OMG! Warcraft 3 is $90 Canadian.....

....and they wonder why there's piracy?

I want this game bad...I played the beta and it rocks, but $90?!?!?! (Futureshop pre-order). The Collector's Edition is a whopping $130!!!

I would've figured it would go for $70 AT THE MOST, but this is just a total rip-off. Just because blizzard has a good track record they can charge obscene prices for their software? This sure is the wrong way to combat piracy!

(I'll end up buying it anyway 🙁 )

But dude, that's like 15 and a half US cents.

I'd buy it for that....

...maybe...

It's about $58 US, but our games usually don't round off with the currency rates. We usually get a bit of a break.

Can't you just order it online?

This is online! I can't imagine what the rip-off Electronic Boutique is going to charge in their B&M store. Futureshop is considered cheap for games

Well, RTCW was $55 for the tin box.

🙂

Live mid-market rates as of 2002.06.15 17:53:38 GMT.
90.00 CAD Canada Dollars = 58.2072 USD United States Dollars

1 CAD = 0.646747 USD 1 USD = 1.54620 CAD

Damn that IS a ripoff. Games in Canada are usually no more than $70, often only $60. $90 is insane. I wasn't planning on buying it anyways, but now I'm surely not going to.

Or <a class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.dragon.ca/games/strategy/warcraft3dvd.htm" target=blank>from Canada</A>.

This is a pretty good company other than they send you tons of spam.

I rather pay $59 for a game that includes free battle.net online gaming than for a $30 game that charges a $10 monthly fee for online gaming. 🙂

My two cents is to wait for the game to be released. Pre-orders are mostly higher prices. I waited 1 extra week for RTCW and got a $60 game for only $30 at Circuit City. I'm sure WCIII will be under the $40 mark a week after release.

But i can't wait 🙁

Diablo 2 was $60 USD when it came out... $58 is cheaper than $60, I dont see what your saying...
Ha...I paid $60 Canadian (~$40 US) for Diablo on it's release date. Now you see what I'm saying? 😛

Online gaming should be a normal part of the game, not a extra that cost more $$$.
