well you can't blame them for being pissed. I went in to see about a new card. there was a huge flamefest and outright lies. Come to find out some are paid to spread the lies.

Why would you trust another member's review of anything anyway... especially from an obvious fanboy like Rollo?

once i figured out he was a lieing sack of crap i didn't trust him. but then i also didn't just come here for information there are many good places to get an idea. a V-card is not a cheap part to buy more information i get the better.

But there are many people on this forum who know a LOT about hardware and software. This is a great place to get a idea on what to purchase.

They are video cards, thats all they are. I find it difficult to think that some peoples lives are so empty that they can spend hours upon hours fighting and bickering about which kick-ass video card is more kick-ass than the other.

You can also go to Forum Issues and read plenty of whining in there as well.

The whole thing is asinine, I doubt that it will be very long before the Mods and powers tha be have had their fill of it and start handing out permabans to a huge portion the consistent whiners.

Why is it still going on anyway? The thread at Beyond3D has been locked almost a week ago... and it seems like other video forums really couldn't give a sh*t unlike the drama queens we have in here.

If you can't see why if was an issue than you're pretty empty headed/haven't read the details. That said, it has been blown all out of proportion.

These people were/are essentially marketing on the board, without paying AT for it, masquerading as honest enthusuiasts. One person has even got people banned for suggesting he was 'paid' by AEG, when in fact that was the exact truth...

Which means you know very little about the whole mess. Rollo has leaned toward green long before this whole AEG debacle. Crucifying him because of current affiliation blindly isn't right.

And yes otis, you're right. That thread has gone so far beyond what it should have been. What pains me to see is that it's very easy to see who the front runners are in Video that need to go away. One can only hope that the mods finish their evaluation and take care of them soon.

If they happen to miss anyone, I'm already compiling threads. Video needs to be a place where we can go without having those select few hop in and attack individuals, rather than discussing the thread at hand.

im not gonna read all 1600+ of the idiotic posts (excluding mine of course ), but of the ones i have read its just stupid. the ati boys are really digging in. Morph or somebody's made up some real sly ****** that simply isnt true, apoppin, while obviously has good ideas as to how the ideal world should act, still cant grasp that the real world is far from ideal.....so this apparently offends him immensly and he must not stop till all the AEG people are found.

The AEG thread here at Anandtech is actually a good thing.

The only people pointing at beyond3D as an example are the marketers and their supporters. I joined there and had my first 3 posts deleted by some French moderator. I am an experienced forum goer and thought their liberal use of profanity meant they were more free or something but quite the opposite. They censor opinion like nobodies business. To me, beyond3d is an amateur site if only for allowing moderators to delete innocuous posts within 10 seconds of them being posted if they do not fit the "we do not think this is an issue" mold. It's too bad that tiny site is scared to never get another videocard test sample again, lol.

No, but crucifying him for being a flat-out liar and paid shill IS right. I couldn't give a rat's ass what company someone likes, but when they repeatedly deny they are getting paid by that company, then finally admit the truth after being exposed, they have nothing left to offer and need to be sent packing.
