And yes, this game does rock :D :)

No kidding. There was a thread here just the other day about who has pirated / warez software on their computers. People were acting like total angels. WTF?!

Anyway, I still run a Voodoo3 3000. I don't mind them delaying the demo till the GF4 Ti4200+ gets cheaper.

These are at 800x600 with quite a few of the options turned off. I'll try it later at 1024.768 and turn all the goodies on.

Yes, UT2K3 does look awesome.

Can't wait for the final to come out, I could very well be playing it for days on end. I seem to remember losing a lot of sleep when Quake 3 came out...

just some info for you guys, the version that you guys currently have is not the final release. It is build 927, the same build as the beta 15 day's trial release :(

Wow, I'm thinkin this game is gonna treat my poor old Radeon 32 DDR very badly indeed. Oh well, hopefully release date will coincide nicely with the ATI 9700 cards :)

Yeah, it would probably torture a radeon ddr. Turning off high detail actors, and lowering the texture detail on the characters makes it run soooo much smoother. Almost a constant 60 with 2xAA for me now, and the AA helps a great deal in this game since theres so many polys.

I would take a few screens but I have nowhere to upload them to.

Its not the full version, but its got 20 something maps. I need the one file though grr...

Some of the maps are incredible, and some are just kinda bleh, yet another space station. The outdoor levels are amazing though, but I really really want to play lava giant. Can anyone hook a brother up with one file?

The graphics are very nice, but to be honest I dont see any Dx8 effects anywhere.

Call me a pirate if you want, I've already got the game preordered, and I just wanted to check it out because the suspense is killing me.

Unfortunately, now Im stuck at work and have to wait hours to play again. :(

UT2003 is quite sweet. Its too bad the leaked beta's multiplayer isn't fully functional. Out of all the games that are on the market now, UT2003 is gonna take the eye candy award.

Which build of the game are you guys playing? I got build 927 and the install in itself is 2.5 gigs! The outdoor levels run quite choppy on my system but they are breathtaking. Some of the levels are kind of buggy and there are still some things missing in this build like the nuke and various maps.

Yup, that's the leaked one on the net. 2.5gigs, build 927.

The nuke is in there, although Ive only found it once and cant remember where it is. Kept killing myself with the damn thing.

The graphics are just beyond belief. There is just an insane amount of polys on screen. Sometimes I can have 5 bots on the screen with no probs at all, sometimes one jumps on and its a slideshow. One level in particular was absolutely atrocious. The smoke effect totally kills the framerate, although I havent figured out how to turn it off.

Its a little buggy, and the AI doesnt follow orders, but damn it is so much fun. Definitely game of the year.

Check the UT2003.ini in the system directory, and look for the firstrun variable. Should tell you the build number

I've noticed that its much harder to kill now. A rocket in the face isnt enough to take someone out if theyre at 100 health. Seems a little quakified. Bombing run is pretty fun, and double domination is way better than the original. Its too bad they took out the assault maps.

There looks like two released floating around. One that is the 2.5gigs that is a timebomb. The other, a 2 CD release, that doesn't appear to have a timebomb.

Did you notice how a non-lethal rocket hit will set the opponent on fire for a bit....I thought that was a nice touch. ;)

It better run pretty damn well or they're going to get a lot of returns from unhappy people considering what you listed is pretty close to the top end currently!

What is a timebomb?

I believe that's a protection that makes the program unusable (locks it) after certain amount of days.

What is a timebomb?
Likely, it means it'll disable itself after a certain amount of time.

Edit: too slow.
