OMG...Trident Cyber-XP4 video card (notebook)

I was reading a review of a Toshiba Tecra M1 over at CNet. When I got to the performance page, I see that the Trident Cyber-XP4 gets almost 6000 in 3dmark01...OMG WTF OMG...I really think it is amazing, it is more than a Radeon9000 32mb. I was expecting really bad performance, buy hey...SURPRISE.

I read that Trident is actually cheating in 3Dmark2001SE. If you rename the file to something else the score drops to 1/2 of the original. Reminds me of the quake quack ATi fiasco.... tsk tsk
 
Well CNET reviewed the XP4 on the Toshiba Tecra M1 and it is the second fastest notebook with graphics they have tested. I dunno..I'd take one!
 
Before everyone breaks out the beer and celebrates - can anyone find Q3A, Commanche, Serious Sam, and BF1942 benches for this XP4?

Edit: Googled it and found this (warning: italian). There is Q3 scores, but the 3dmark scores seems quite strange to me. And if you look at the last page of the review, where the comments are, even I that can't speak italian, can sense that some people are wondering about the 3dmark scores as well. But IF these are to be trusted, it seems that the Cyber-XP4 is actually a quite good card, considering that it must be cheaper than a Radeon 9000. Buy hey, who cares. I don't, I'm still saving for my low-end T40, which I'll hopefully get sometime during late sommer, unless I go for the Acer Travelmate 800. But to me, silence is the most important factor (and not getting integrated gfx).

I don't know what's worse, the XP4 cheating, or the built-in wallhack in the SiS Xabre drivers (follow link @ bottom of xbitlabs article) :disgust:
