$2 bills are cool

I wish there were more around

what I've heard is that if you try to buy something, and you try to pay with anything nickels or higher, and they refuse... they are refusing payment via legal tender, and the debt is fulfilled, so therefore you legally own the item :p

I dont know how true that is though

LMAO, great story... I've only gotten weirdness for legal tender once when those goldcolor $1 coins first started printing a year or so ago. All the subway machines in NY spit them out as change, I had a few in my pocket on a trip to central Illinois and was trying to buy a soda from some fast food stop... I got this "WTF is dat?!" look.

hmm I have some Sacagawea coins I should see about spending. I will probably get yelled at for using Canadian money or something.

I haven't tried recently but I'm pretty sure you still can. One of my friends often gets two-dollar bills from the bank when he gets money to spend, just to be different. I think he said they limit you to $100 worth each time, I don't remember exactly though. I'm not sure who he banks with now either, last time I asked it was Wells Fargo.

I don't remember ever getting a $2 bill myself, for the past 10 years or more. Same w/ dollar coins: I got some in Vegas (old ones), and got a couple of the new ones in a vending machine at the post office. People around here don't like these fancy money stuff.

Makes me want to get a whole stack of $2 bills just to see what happens when I try to buy stuff. If I got the right group of people, I could probably end up in jail. At least you get free food.

Hahahahahaha. That was a great post.
