Wow!! It's like buying a $500 TV from rent-a-center for $125mo x 12 = $1500.

Put the $35 per week in a coffee can, at the end of 12 weeks you could build a much better computer than that and pay cash for it and save yourself 40 payments of $35

This is why poor people are poor.

They're stupid. They buy things like this, putting themselves deeper in debt because they didn't have credit in the first place.

Anyone who buys something sooo incredibly overprices, doesn't deserve the money they lost.

The prices have to be rediculous because probably 2/3rds of the people stop paying them after a couple months. You aren't dealing with credit capable people in these businesses so you have to have huge margins to cover the losses.

Lol, the poor schmucks that fall for this will never read that. They don't have a computer! I've even seen a commercial similar to this. Low monthly payments, no credit check, cheap-o computer.

Ok. $99 down and then $35 a week.

Let's say I can get a Dell from Dell directly for $500.

So, if I took that $99 down payment, and saved $35 a week for 12 weeks, I could just buy it from Dell.

Ah, the world of "I want it now, not later".

At least they give you double RAM and a 7200 RPM hard drive, and it's actually a little less. 35/week vs. 36/week Why are these ripoff places named after animals?

Dunno... anyone want to fund one of these companies in Houston? I have some debt collector clients... We could extort enogh $ out of the urban poor to all be rich.

Incidentally, anyone know the name of the horse that screwed the guy to death in Washington state? That would be a great naem for a company like this... whatever the horse's name was. 😉

OMG, the accessories page is the best on freedom frog funding.

Affordable Accessories!

Internet Camera - $5.99/ week

Take pictures and send them to your friends over the internet. Use live video with some of the latest internet chat software. The possibilities are endless.

Please let me pay $312 for a crappy $20 webcam!

DVD-RW Drive - $8.99/ week

Record your important data to DVD for increased storage. One DVD-R holds up to 7 times the data that
a CD-R can hold.

I have been dying to finance a $40 DVD burner for $468!

Not to mention you could get these items cheaper/free than I listed if you scour around for deals.

how much funding could it possibly need? all you do is collect the money from them before you ship it, and then charge them the same for another 2 years. it's all gravy!

You didn't read the fine print on the site. You have to pay them for 12 weeks first, BEFORE they even ship the computer to you, so that you can "establish" your good credit with them.

Buahahah!
http://www.bluehippo.com/desktop_computer.asp

Each computer is priced on a weekly basis and you make payments for just 12 months. This way, we can keep the payments small and at the end of one year you will own one of these brand new top-of-the-line computers.

Since we don't check your credit, we do ask that you build a short credit history with us by making 3 month's worth of payments before we ship the computer. It's that simple.

The best thing is if you look at their commercial...

One guy talks about starting a business... haha how the hell can you start a business if you have no credit and you can't even afford a $300 computer?

😀

Labtec Optical Mouse
Replaces the old-fashioned mechanical mouse ball and works on virtually any surface. This mouse brings the precision and accuracy of optical technology to an affordable mouse.

$1.99 per week

So $103.48 to "upgrade" to an optical mouse. That's amazing.

I am starting a company now. This is easy money. 😛
I'd just collect the money and laugh at the stupid people signing up with me. 😀

hmm... lets say $25/week.

these rent to own places prey on poor people.

they think... i can't afford a computer but i can afford 35$ a week. essentially they allow themselves to be scammed by these businesses.

Got in for 2 before the deal ended!
This is hot!

I only have to pay $70 a week for 2 PC's!!!!

Why hasn't someone posted this in the "Hot Deals" forum?
