OMG They may pull Windows out of Korea...

Nah I doubt it...just sounds like they are threatening to do something. If anything Microsoft will just change its version for the Korean Market. Thats a country with a population of roughly 50 million, they'd end up losing a LOT more by leaving the market than they would by staying there and playing according to Korean rules...especially if something like Linux gets a foothold in high tech Korea

MS needs to work on payola like they got over here...these foreigners are going to tear them up if not. I'm 100% positive MS death will come from rest of world adopting and writting for something else.. wether it be a "free" type OS like liunx or a cheaper startup and distribution out of China/Korea/Former soviet block MS can not sustain charging as much as they do combined with it's monopoly power and USA based at that.

BTW- I love MS unlike a lot of people, they give me a great product, good updates, simple, lots of tools, plays greatest games and best apps at a reasonable price. But I think being USA hurts them. They are attacked from every angle. Foreign federal, wanton theft in these countries by the people top to bottom, and higher education/local governments over there are all gunning for MS.

Its just MS way of crying. They are not going to pull out because it will leave the door open as suggested by magomago.

Problem is, Linux will never be capable of this without a unified approach. I like Windows and Linux, but I also know that a gaseous unguided entity is no match for a targeted corporate entity.

Plain and simple, Linux's openess hurts it as there is a lack of a cohesive approach to attack.

Overall, I agree w/ magomago.

yup, starcraft works fine in WINE

QFT I game on linux and wine/cedega do the job well.

Starcraft on bnet w/ linux works just as good as windoze.

Diabloii also (not sure about WoW)

There are all kinds of assaults on U.S. companies overseas. Microsoft seems to be the prime target no matter what region they do business in.

I think Apple faces alot of hostility in foreign markets too, partly because of its strong "american" identification, but more so because it runs on proprietary hardware that is relattively expensive. I would think they might do well in a relatively affluent setting like Japan, but not good at all in a market like China.
