OMG the poor are not all bums

Indus

Very talented homeless guy plays piano in Sarasota Florida.

According to him, he wasn't homeless, he just had depression after his wife died and his life fell apart after that.

Wish fox news would just stop bullying all homeless as leeches/ sponges and undeserving, lazy to work..

You've posted a lot of threads lately where previously you weren't a part of P&N.

Not saying it's a bad thing, just making sure you're not going overboard with internal anger or anything like that. P&N can bring that out of people.

Not to my recollection has Fox News ever done a report calling every single poor person a bum. So... what's the point of this thread? Take that youtube like and post it in an "Off Topic" thread with the title "Homeless man plays piano beautifully."

When the progression of thought is:
(1) "Wow this is a very nice youtube video of a talented person"
(2) "Goddamn I fucking can't stand Fox News!"

Maybe there's an anger issue in there somewhere.

I mean, your signature states your belief that the GOP believes every natural disaster has been caused by a gay person. Take a break. Seriously. For your own benefit. Turn off the news, turn off the internet, and go find a way to enjoy life.

Nah I'm not about anger.. but I do get a little irritated when I see a perfectly talented guy just having bad misfortune ending up homeless being grouped together as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qtvb0tugSNA

I do want them to come up with solutions for the world that they live in instead of thinking of themselves existing in the twilight zone.

Yes, because there is no way we should require him to actually use his talent, we should just pay him because he can...

If you say so...

You're not the first person here to come in with a swarm of threads highlighting how much you dislike Republicans and Fox News, and you certainly won't be the last person here doing that either.

Nobody here really cares that much that you are the one currently carrying the torch. The only issue really is, are you on the inside becoming a better person, or are you becoming more miserable along the way? You're the only person who can answer it. And I don't care what answer you give to me, or to anyone else on this forum, my only advice is for you to make sure you are honest to yourself.

If I were to answer, it would be TMI. But I'll give you a hint.. United States v. Windsor impacted me.

Not sure about the fox news part of the OP. But the story does highlight that homelessness is frequently associated with mental issues. Which is a health care area we manage very poorly.

Of course they are - I was at Costco the other day and a man with a needle sticking out his arm was begging for change. He had his fourtee,.. no, eighteen, yes, eighteen kids with him; they were on drugs too.

Anyway, he had a big bag next to him with the words GOVERNMENT MONEY TAKEN FROM THE HARD WORKING RICH PERSON AND GIVEN TO ME, THE LAZY DRUG ADDICT POOR PERSON (I MEAN, LOOK AT THE NEEDLE STICKING OUT OF MY ARM). There must have been about $1 million,... no, $2 million in that bag. With gold bars and gems, in addition to the $3 million,... did I say $2 million? Sorry, it was totally $3 million in cash - all in $20s.

And with him, he had an Obama phone. It was just one button - "BARRY", where this guy could just call the President and have a helicopter full of cash flown to him in like, 10 minute,.. no, 5 minutes. Yeah, that's it.

Did I mention he was a drug addict?

So, he and his kids surrounded me and started beating me to give them ALL of my money. I told them; "The US Government already took 90% of my salary to give it to you!! I need the rest to eat!!" And the man said; "I NEED MORE!!" and they took my remaining 10%.

I died of starvation the other day. It was horrible.

And then he left in a limousine that was being driven by an Iraqi war vet - who was still bleeding from the wounds he sustained. Why is Obama allowing this?

I'll tell you why; he wants to destroy America. And, he is using the HORDES of poor to do it.

that guy really needs to work on his left hand, throw some octave arpeggios or runs in there, or something

1-5-3-5 gets old after 2 minutes

Needs more mooslim.

No matter how shitty Republicans are, I'm glad people like Newell Steamer are around to remind me that I despise Democrats just as much.

There's a reason why the newest % of voters joining the voting block are neither republicans, nor democrats.

For example take Florida.. between 2012 and 2015, 1.5 million people became registered voters and their voting affiliation was:

1,000,000 not affiliated/ independent
300,000 democrats
200,000 republicans

This was on Meet the Press. I'm glad this is happening because it means people are not just drinking the kool-aid anymore and thinking for themselves. No longer does religion/ blind hate play a part in the majority control of American thinking anymore.

Ugh, I get tired of seeing this story. Its everywhere. Drug addled people had lives before they were drug addled. Its not surprising that some had skills.

It's unfortunately not true. Americans are actually becoming more in lock step partisanship, not less.

'Independents' have been studied quite a bit and it turns out they are basically indistinguishable from partisans in their voting patterns, they just like to pretend different.

After Bush II, there was a large decrease in "Republican" registered voters and a large increase in "Independents".

How you label yourself matters much less than how you vote. It does provide an inkling of an idea of what you think about the label, though.

I've almost thought about registering as a Republican down here just so I could vote for who I thought was the least electable one in the GOP Primary and still vote for whoever I want to in the General Election.

If enough people did that you could really skew things 😛

Quite so. I'm a registered independent and I've never voted anything but republican.

I just registered independent to say I'm cooler than all these raging partisans who vote in lockstep.
