OMG, the NHL...

...is the most amazing experience in sports today. The Stanley Cup win by Colorado and the surrounding Ray Bourque story is simply breathtaking. When Ray hoisted that cup my wife and I were in tears... it was simply the most 'pure' moment I have ever seen in professional sports... especially in the high dollar, spoiled brat atmosphere pro sports has turned into.

The two best teams in hockey, 7th game, won at home, Roy winning 3rd Con Smythe, Ray Bourque finally getting to touch The Cup after 22 years in one of roughest, most physical sports on the planet. Just unreal. I felt like I was watching a movie.

I know there are a lot of Canucks around here... you should be DAMN PROUD of your national sport... it's the best show in sports!

Actually, officially Canada has two national sports. Canada's two official sports are Hockey (winter game) and Lacrosse (the summer game).
Legislation was approved April 27, 1994 to put that into effect.

I really hate Colorado, but after it was all over, I was happy for Ray Bourque. He has to be as high as any one person can be right now. He'll probably retire, but at least he got it. The NBA is no comparison to the NHL in the least bit. NHL players work much harder, and they have the Cup to win and not some silly, ugly-ass trophy. By the way, how did Patrick Roy get the Conn Smythe? It makes no sense. If he was their best player, they didn't deserve to win. What about Sakic?

Dang tootin'!!! The Avs win the cup, Ray finally gets a ring, and Roy sets yet another record for most MVP awards.

I am soooooo frikin' happy!


BTW, TV hockey is great, being at a games is even better...

but playing is the best feeling in the world!

I just loved how the families of the players were in tears; so proud were they of their husbands and daddies!

Well, either him or Sakic. You can make a case either way but Roy was the difference in the series. 2 shutouts, and nearly a 3rd... he proved once again that he's the best playoff goaltender. Great to see Ray finally win it. I wonder if he'll retire now or stay on for another campaign. Congrats to Bourque and the rest of the Avalanche on a wonderful year and to the Devils as well who put in a great effort.

Another great season comes to an end, but the action off the ice is just starting. Tons of big name free agents starting with Sakic. Big guns like Jagr, Lindros, Turgeon, Tkachuk, Blake, Peca, Yashin, etc. are all in play. You can be sure the Rangers will make a move, possibly signing Sakic or swinging a deal for Jagr.

Should be an interesting summer, and before you know it, training camp will be here.

I would like to see your proof that NHL players work much harder, because I doubt you have trained with either an nba player or an nhl player. You really can't prove that. Also, I agree the Stanley Cup is a beautiful trophy, but it really doesn't matter because there is something wrong with you if you enjoy watching sports just to see the trophy at the end.

You're right. Many of them have not been convicted yet.
