Mess with the bull, you get the horns. I'm sure the wench was told on several occasions to move our suffer consequences, she obviously chose consequences. That picture does not in any way make me feel bad for her or anyone else who suffered similarly.

These people were not "exercising their right to free speech". They were actively attempting to prevent the shipment of supplies to our troops in the field. In my opinion, in addition to getting hurt by police riot control procedures, she should also be charged with a crime for her interference in ongoing military operations. I have no sympathy for her or her kind.

I fully support every American's right to protest this war, but going beyond mere protesting means accepting the physical and legal consequences.

But why did they shoot the longshoremen? They were well seperated from the protesters from the reports I saw, but several were nailed anyway (and not too happy about it either).

Couldn't agree more. Peaceful protest is one thing but resorting to unlawful practices because people aren't paying enough attention to you is illegal.

These people would all be dead if they had been protesting the Iraqi government in Iraq.

Guess those protesters will be going back to San Fran where the police are a little more tolerant.

This is the result of failing to disburse when directed by the police. We have the right to peaceful protest, but when the protesters start violating the rights of others, police move in and give you a chance to leave. If they decide to disobey, take it like a man (or woman). You are given a choice.

The right to peaceful protest is guarenteed by the Constitution, but when you endanger troops by blocking their supply lines, you are committing TREASON!. You are AIDING the enemy, You are comforting them by hindering our troops. Each on of these liberal idiots needs to get a friggin life. They all need to be arrested and put on trial for treason. Once found guilty, they need to either go to a Federal "Pound me in the Arse" prison, or be executed.

I just want to mention that I saw a report on this last night, and I don't believe for a second that the police were intentionally targetting the union workers. That's ridiculous. Why would they do that?! The union representative was saying that the police shoudl be prosecuted. I've got news for you, if they didn't think they were hitting protesters, they wouldn't be firing.

I was watching and adding my own ending to the statements from the police guy.

Policeman: "We are saddened and greatly disturbed..."
Me: "that we didn't injure those dammed hippies worse. Some of our guys just aren't the best shots in the world. They will be sent back to training."

I hope they start a volunteer police force to help relieve the police's burden. I could take my shotgun with rubber bullets and take out protesters that are blocking traffic and supplies to our troops so that the police could continue to do their job, which consists partly of PROTECTING US FROM TERRORISM.

Cruel statement, but I hope that lasts for a looooong time. Perhaps she and others like her will take time to reflect on what they were really trying to acomplish.

I'm under the impression that everyone else has been so far...these people went beyond protesting.

In my town, there is a group that demonstrates very peacefully with signs against the war. On the side of the road. Not hurting anyone. They've never been shot with rubber bullets.

And I even honk when I see their "Honk for Peace" signs...because I think peace usually comes about when wars are fought? If there were no wars, there would be no peace - there would be anarchy.

These people got what they earned. Our Constitution gives us the right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression, but it does not give us freedom from the consequences of that speech or expression.

I love the name of that group "International A.N.S.W.E.R. (Act Now to Stop War & End Racism)". I mean why do they add the "End Racism" part, that is just too much.....lol. I'm going to make a group that is against everything bad and for everything good and just throw in random issues to try to get more people on my side. Or maybe I'll make a group called PWPG (Pro War & Pizza is Good). If you think pizza is good then you have to join my group.....oh ya, and we are pro-war so I guess you'll have to be pro-war as well.

hey--- is that FUR that she's wearing?

regardless - i live in oakland and the stuff that i hear is that the police didnt show up with any plastic handcuffs or wagons to haul off people arrested. and from talking to people who were there, the protest was peaceful and the police basically went off. if you have been following anything that has been going on in the oakland police department lately, this would not be surprising. google the oakland police if you want some details.
