How old are you? 12? That "old dude" is Lee Iacocoa. It isn't his company, he doesn't even work for them anymore. In fact the german company Diamler owns chyrsler now, not that Iacococa ever owned them to begin with, he was just the CEO. Who BTW is quite famous because he saved chrystler from bankruptcy and invented the mini-van. You have to either be incredibly young or stupid not to know that.

I have no clue who he is though I've heard his name before. I'm 27. Why should I know and being stupid is different than being sheltered. There's many things I know that you don't because I've been around different places and encountered different things... does that make you stupid ?

Point is, he's completely unnatural. Watch his hands during the commercial, especially the one where he says "but there's something missing". He does not fit. Call the pros. The commercial is annoying (I didn't start this thread) and he absolutely doesn't help. Am I supposed to respect him more because of some prior accomplishments ? Commenting on what I saw (too many times in the last month).

If our cars suck more than others, then go for the other guys' ? Yeah, that's going to make me go out and buy your car... that dude is so fricken old he doesn't know what he's doing. I don't care if it's his company. Let the pros handle it. He appeals to who... OLD PEOPLE... and which one of them are going to go out and buy a new car NOW ? They're all about hoarding money... they're not going to buy your cars when gas prices already have them penny pinching... get a young guy to do your commercials and maybe they will appeal to the right target audience. And maybe he'll tell you how much your "catchphrase" sucks.

I'm so glad the "employee pricing PLUS" (hey we named it something different, we rock) period is almost over...

That "old dude" is one of the most important people in the Detroit auto industry in the past 50 years

Who the hell is Lee Iacocoa? The new spokesman for Cocoa Puffs?

Whoever that is, few people have any clue as to who Lee Iacocca is.

The octogenarian, however, doesn't register with most young people. A little more than a third of 18 to 24 year olds have even heard of the former Chrysler Corp. chairman.

And the Ad Age survey highlighted one snag in the campaign that features Iacocca's famous phrase: "If you can find a better car, buy it." About 80 percent of survey respondents said they thought they could find something better.

Pot Cocoa Black? 😛

the only thing that changes is that I call him by his name. If Michael Jordan did a suck-ass job in a basketball sneaker commercial, I'd say the same thing. The dude doesn't belong on tv. The commercials are terrible... all of them.

nice find.

The point is that they still insist on putting him in commercials, while their new cars are targeted toward the 20 year something who don't know who that is. . Only this time they think Snoopy can act as a savior to this. Constanza didn't work, so they think a young hip black guy can.

Still, someone who doesn't follow the car industry would be harfelt to name the current CEO of any auto manufacturer out there, muchless one from the past.

So shoot me for spelling his name wrong. And he was more than just chairman of a car company. He created the minivan, IIRC he also ran ford for something like 20 years and was responsible for a number of famous cars. He's also the only person to ever get the government to back a private loan. Just cause a bunch of kids don't know who he is doesn't mean he's not famous, he's also been in the stupid commercials since he was chairman.

And yes the snoop commerical is so super annoying and it's isn't because iacocoa (spelled that way just for you koneigangrine) is in it.

Yes, you don't like his music, so he must be annoying.

If I ever see a car commercial with an annoying, awful, sh!tty rock band on it, I'll be sure to come here and whine like a little b!tch like a little girl about it, because after all, if I don't like their music, they must make terrible commercials.

I like the way you try to cover up the misspelling of his name with more useless facts. Whee, look at me I'm smart, I know random things!

Seriously, who did?

Nobody. I can assure you, without a doubt, thats why you hate the commercial though.

LOL I'm a "kid" ? I shall bow before your supremacy.

I don't give a flying fvck if he's supposedly famous. He sucked. All 3 commercials of his are dumb, Snoop had very little to do with it in my opinion. I stated the core reasons why. What was your beef with me again ? Cause I didn't know who he was ? Umm.... ok. Now that I do, what is the problem now ? He didn't appeal to me at all - it was quite negative in fact. And obviously I had nothing against him before this.

He doesn't need you to like the commercial - he's makin mizzles!

it's the big neptizzle! D O double gizzle!

Snoop a LOOP!

Wow, I've heard some assumptions pulled out of someone's ass before, but this one pretty much takes the cake.

You're saying that you can assure me, someone you don't know in any form or matter, why I don't like a stupid commercial?

I'll take dumbass assumptions for $800 please Alex.

ROFL.
That's the exact same thought I had when I saw the commercial. I could easily find better cars.

I don't care who he is. I'm sure the majority of America (including kids) has no clue who he is, or what that catch phrase is.
It's not going to make me want to own a DC vehicle.

And finally, yes that commerical is the most annoying of the 3 current Chyrsler ads.

I bet he hit it better than I could. 🙁

Totally CGI, just look close enough and it's more obvious than Katrina on Doppler. As for the commercial, I am BEYOND ANNOYED by it being on so much, as well as the stupid "raising the bar" Cingular ones.
