If you go anywhere in your car, drive slowly (or at least slower than you usually do). It's really easy to start sliding around, especially if you're not used to driving in those conditions.

I'm sorry - you don't know scary until you've seen southerners and ICE. They can't drive to begin with, add ice to the mixture and you're better off not driving all together. Seriously, when the majority of car owners are riding on summer tires, or tires that have a horrible snow/ice rating, you're playing bumper cars.

He's right. Snow's no big deal, it's the ice. Two years ago we had a REALLY nasty ice storm. That's still fresh in most people's minds here so they are in panic mode.

If the car dealer is open today I hope to pick up my new (used) 4runner. This should be an interesting test drive!

I use to live in Greenville although I moved to Michigan about 2 years ago. I usually stayed home after a snow storm if I didn't have to go to work. I would drive my Nissan Pathfinder in 4WD at 35mph and people would fly past me at 55mph. Once I passed someone in a ditch after they passed me on one of the state highways with 3 inches of snow.

Turns out we didn't even get close to that. I still see alot of grass in my yard, I'm a bit disappointed.

It was mainly freezing rain today. :(

LOL it's embarrassing yet so true that most down here don't know how to react to any amount of ice / sleet / snow.

im so sick of northern-folk talking about how we can't drive in the snow.

After driving through ohio/PA/michigan......... you dumbfscks can't drive in traffic for sh!t.

I'm convinced that 1/2 the traffic here (in atlanta) is caused by northern people who cannot drive

Here in one of the NE suburbs of Atlanta it isn't snow that is the problem. It is the ice. My entire subdivision is covered in it. I imagine the main roads are ok but all the sidestreets are covered in ice.

It wasn't critical that I went anywhere today so I just stayed inside and played with my son all day. I can drive in the snow and ice ok but I don't tempt fate with other drivers in Atlanta.

The sucky part is that that the Alabama/Georgia basketball game was postponed from tonight to tomorrow night because UGA couldn't get out of Atlanta.

Also, the mail didn't run. So much for the US Post Office motto. ;)

Don't judge the rest of us northerners by Ohio/PA/Michigan/NY/NJ

I drive with PA drivers every day, and I'm convinced that they can walk into the DMV and walk out with a license, no driver's ed, no exam, no written test, no nothing.

I used to live in west Michigan where we got on average of 72" of snow in a season. I now live in Cincinnati where we only get around 15" in a season. It's amazing how bad people drive when there's 6" of snow in a day around here.
