i opted to get the sony clie t-615c.... i know its slower, smaller screen and no keyboard or camera, but IMHO its worth the $200 difference now.

use the codes etc and get it for $310 or so... you have to add a few $ to get over $400.

i think it will be smaller too so I can carry it as my main organizer while using my Audiovox as a kinda multimedia machine haha.... both togther = around $500

Here's something to think about: I believe that the next version of PalmOS (5.0) will only be made for ARM processors. The PEG-NR70 uses a dragonball processor. Thus, it may be possible that you have a nice, expensive organizer with no way to upgrade.

At checkout Dell will take both the 10% off and $50 coupon but when I get to the final page with the total it replaces the $50 coupon for $10. Any ideas what is wrong?

I'm sorry but I can't imagine paying over $300 for any Palm based PDA. When you get into the $300+ PDA territory that's where the Pocket PC's rule and where you should spend your money.

I haven't used my piddly Sony Clie PEG-S320 for several months, battery went dead, erased everything (backed up on my desktop thankfully). I wonder how much I can fetch for it on eBay, still have the box, all manuals, cords, and it's in pristine condition.

RossMan, just to be fair, I have the same story when I went from Palm to PocketPC. I bought a Casio Cassepedia E-125 when back in those days was the king. Still ended getting dusted and battery drained from non-usage. It was just a bit bulky to lug around given that you have carry a cell phone as well. I think when it comes to PDA, you really have look at the form factor since that plays a big part. Have never seen the Sony in person but with all Sony gadgets, they got good forms. Still waiting for the perfect (or almost) pocket PC phone combo thingie..

Same here, once they can morph a nice Nokia/Samsung cell phone into a functional Palm/Pocket PC device then I'll just continue to use my cell phone and post it notes 😀

Same here, don't own a PDA that I've fallen head over heals for yet. But I keep trying. 🙂

Amazing deal!

I own both Audiovox pocketpc 2002 and Sony Clie 760 Palm 4.1 OS.
And I really don't see what Pocketpc can do, that Palm can't????????????

Multimedia?.hmm.......both play music, play movie clip, both has excellent resolution in picture.
Why one willing to pay $599 for a HP and not $499 for a Sony (such as this deal)?????

Sony's 2nd gen B/W PDA doesn't make a good example of what Palm base PDA can do.

true that sony clie can play music and movie clips but divx, full movies etc.... that is where ppc outshines palm.

but ... i really cannot get over clie's style, and palms ease of use. the phone, addresses, calendar etc are just so much better for me. thats why i use that every day, but ppc is nice to watch movies (large cf card) and play games on...
also i hate how the memory stick only goes up to 128 (maybe 256 soon)....

all IMHO

Please, NO MORE CLIE BASHING OR PDA WARRING!!! We all appreciate your opinions, but let's keep it on topic. This is a hot deal...take it or leave it!

Awwwwww man. I wish I had the $$$ to spend on this deal. I saw a preview of this Clie a while back, and I've been drooling over it ever since. Everything I need, nothing I don't. If only I'd win the lottery.

Just read a review on this on PC magazine yesterday, and I have to admit it's one piece of work. The only thing that it lacks is wireless data, and voice recording. Maybe that will come up with a adaptor for a modem later?? But that would increase the size of it... The digital camer is pretty cool though even though it only goes up to 100,000 pixels, but that is good enough for a small picture for all the people in your address book hehe. Great deal!!

its not pda warring ... just creative discussion. how can you tell? there was no bashing, just honest opinions about both. i have both so i think its very good to tell everyone what i use each for.

anyways... yeah its a hot deal, but let the people speak 🙂
