OMG! Someone jacked my car!

And stole ONE tire and rim. Not my stereo, or anything else in the car.

I was in my work building for all of ten minutes, and I come outside and the car is sitting there sans rim/tire and sitting on a block. I was like WTF, it's the stock tire and rim!!? (Cavalier Z24) That had to be a pretty bold thief to do it right in front of the door and while the car was still warm. So I got a tow home (~75km) and now I can't sleep!

If theres any consolation to it all, of all the 4 tires, the thief stole the the one with the bent rim. LOL!

It wasn't that bent, just enough to have the guy notice when I got new tires. I don't even know when it happened, I haven't hit any curbs or anything, it may have been that way since I bought the car used in '98.
 
Did you see 2 guys in a black cavalier about 2 blocks north of you that were in a real big hurry, but didnt have a spare.......I swear we thought you would be at work longer than that, we were gonna bring it back.

And yeah it was bent, WTH did you do to it?

Too bad those rims are like $700.00 each from the dealer, not to mention another $160.00 for the tire. 🙁
 
If you could get anywhere near dealer prices I would sell the other 3 and buy a set from the tire shop, make a few bucks.
 
They were the stock 5 spokes.

16 inch, and they take 205/55 tires. I have Bridgestone Potenza RE910's on the car. *edit* They're quite nice rims, actually.

?? you mean 700 dollars for the set right? the ebay site says 250 a wheel.. i dunno😛

dealer markup is insane on most parts like this. Try buying a radio from your local dealership. They'llcharge oyu $400-600 for a stock POS stereo.
 
N8, I don't know who is more on crack, the dealer trying to sell a wheel for $700, or the owner that would consider buying one. ;-)

Call local "hubcap and wheel" places (I think you can actually look under hubcap in the phone book). They can probably hook you up for under $100 with a wheel.

Oh, and the tire is $86 from tirerack... I'd be surprised if you end up being out more than $150. I'm not saying that doesn't suck, but could be a lot worse. At least it's an easy theft to replace - sucks a lot more when someone steals your radio, cuts a bunch of wires, and takes a chunk of dashboard out along the way.

ouch, ok, i was running off of assumptions based on my moms recent camry purchase😛 only ~800bux for all 4 rims and that included different badging🙂
