Have you guys ever tried these? I know the overclockers have but I always stayed with the old tried and true ribbons. No More!!

Just upgraded my newest machince with cables from Compucycle @ less than $3 each and what a pleasure to work with! That alone is worth it even if extra cooling isnt necessary. Put them where you like and flexible as hell not to mention "OH, look at all the pretty colors" Im hooked.

Bought enough cables for 2 machines and an LED fan for less than $20.
 
Ah so you got in on the cable clearance at SVC too? I bought 25 dollars worth of cables from their clearance, swapped 3 PC's to rounded cables, and I still have a few to spare. SVC rocks. 😀
 
Yeah!!!

Red for hard drive
green for cd-rom and cd-r/w
yellow for floppy

Red case fan
green HD fan

MB and Vid card green or I might have chosen other colors.

Amazing how little they really show up but case is a WHOLE lot neater.

Been buying from SVC and Newegg for years now.
 
i used a set, once

i have so many flat cables it will be a while before i run out, but i guess i will buy the round ones when i do

they still seem weird to me
 
Shipping was $9, a bit high so order a lot and then its OK. Cables here are a LOT more.

18" for HD but I got 24" for CD-rom and cd-R/w as I have a large tower case (antec) with a MB that has low mounted connectors (EPoX 8K7A+) YMMV

Yep, I got a lot of flat cables also but with the new ata 100/133 being 80 wires instead of 40 I tosssed a lot.

If you with genius IQs want to say welcome to 2 weeks ago, I could say welcome to 20 years ago about a lot of things you post if I wanted to.

This is why I dont post here much anymore!
 
UPDATE!!

Proc down 3 degreesF with case temp actually up 2 degrees. Hot here today also as case temp usually 88F and now 90f. Room now 82F when usually 78f so I guess an improvemnet.

(Intelligent people can convert these figures to Celcius if they wish)
 
I rounded my old ATA33 cables myself!! HA!!
In fact I still use one of them for my CD Drives. But I found that doing origami with the HDD cable is better and makes cable routing a little easier.

Plus if you fold it in the shape of your power animal it does better to suit the feng shui of your computer. Unfortunately my power animal is Jesse "The Body" Ventura.
 
2d computer done now. Down about 2F in both CPU and case temps.

Didnt care about these but a nice plus. So easy to work with.
