HMM...Maybe she's setting him up so she can snuff him during one of these "conjugal" visits. I see a Movie Of The Week in the making.

You know that scene in Jurassic Park where they lower a cow into the dinosaur cage? About the same will happen to this guy...oh in about a few hours when he sits down for some dinner.

It seems that whenever someone is accused of rape or molestation or some sex crime, they are guilty until proven innocent, as opposed to vice versa. I guess this man has been proven guilty, but I wonder what evidence was brought forth. The article said this was the step-father. Children commonly do not like their step father. Is it possible that the daughter didn't like the idea of her mother marrying someone else, not her real father, who I am guessing the mother divorced? Could it be the daughter saw that he was going to marry her mother and didn't want that to happen, so maybe she made up a story that he molested and raped her? Could that be why she didn't come forth with it until they were about to be married? Things like that have been known to happen. You are not the judge here and you don't even know what evidence was presented.

Just trying to look at it from another point of view...

SilentBob, while plausible, your argument doesn't address the fact that the couple were never out to get married - until they realized one of them was going to get convicted and sent to jail. One of the judges said the sole purpose of the marriage was to get conjugal visits.

at her house in the backwoods

That may explain things. How the hell could she want to do that.

silentBoB -

<< . I guess this man has been proven guilty >>

From the NY Post - - A convicted rapist yesterday married the mother of the girl he sexually assaulted. I know he was proven guilty.

You'd probably be more hesitant to throw out those lame excuses if that was your 8 year old sister he was doing that to--just try to look at it from another point of view.

Hmmm....you usually only see this sort of thing in Arkansas. Pretty sick if you ask me but I guess it's all relative.

The disbelieving mother, desperate for any affection, fits the profile for these kind of situations. She may have been abused herself as a child. Children EXTREMELY RARELY make thses things up. As an adult (19) the girl has no incentive to cause made up trouble now.

I say: HANG THEM BOTH.

Also in the news today:
how about those other two trailer trash who kept their daughter in a closet for months: when she went to the hospital, she was so hungry, the girl wolfed down everything they put in front of her. Didnt know what the Sun was! Worst case of neglect they ever saw in the state.
Mother had 5 other children!! (But of course)

How could that daughter still love that mother? Has that mother no sense of morals or decency?

(well, you asked for it)

Girl Allegedly Kept in Filthy Closet
Crime: Texas couple face charges after malnourished child, 8, is
rescued.

From Associated Press

HUTCHINS, Texas--A couple locked an 8-year-old girl for four months in a dark, lice-infested closet, where she lay on a urine-stained blanket and ate bits of bread and water, authorities alleged Tuesday.
The malnourished girl weighed only 25 pounds when she was rescued Monday night. The 4-by-8-foot closet was littered with human waste and soiled clothing. The girl's mother, Barbara Catherine Atkinson, 30, and stepfather, Kenneth Ray Atkinson, 33, were charged Tuesday with
injury to a child and were being held in the Dallas County Jail.
Hutchins is about 20 miles south of Dallas.
The girl, reported in stable condition and good spirits, was
taken to Children's Medical Center of Dallas for treatment of
malnutrition. Police said she should weigh at least 50 pounds.
Police said the girl appeared to have been neglected for some
time and told officers she was 2 years old. Authorities said they did
not know if she or five other children in the house attended school.
The other children, ranging from 22 months old to 11 years,
were placed in emergency foster care. Police said it did not appear
they were malnourished, although the home was filled with dirty
clothes, trash and pet feces.
Officer Gary McClain said the stepfather told a neighbor about
the girl Monday evening and the neighbor, Joe Rivers, contacted
police.
The mother was gone when police arrived and the stepfather was feeding the girl spaghetti at the kitchen table.
"She was eating as fast as she could," McClain said. "When I
looked in her eyes, it looked like she'd been in a dungeon for days
and days. I thought, 'My God, how can anybody do that?' "

I say put these two in "tiger cages" for four months.
