So I've been kicking around the idea of putting in a pond at the farm. I was advised on another forum to give pondboss.com a look and spend some time there so i dont waste my time and money and end up with a swamp.

Fair enough I think. A bit of thought and planning never hurt in projects like this. So I was browsing through pondboss reading about others ideas thoughts and ponds and came across this.

Sweet Jesus. Thats incredible. Honestly I'd be fairly happy with it as is with the stream and small pond already on the property.
By the time I got to page 3 I was jst in awe. That place is incredible! I cant wait to see the house when its done. The guy could literally sit at his kitchen table, open the door and fish.

Amazing!

You and me both! Its given me some ideas though for my place. Granted the house is already built but still. The biggest complaint of my farm is no water nearby. No rivers, lakes, streams, nothing for quite a ways. I want a pond to change that. I want a place to fish and relax.

If I had a place like what they will have, I honestly dont think I'd ever leave except to buy groceries.

What was his career, and how much did he make?

He must be loaded.

Well, first post, first sentence... "My dad and I purchased"

Its cool to see a family that still stays close like this and does things on this scale together.

Wow! He's got a house IN the water! LOL, that's great! That sure is a whole lot of work put into that project!

yea all that construction cant be cheap

I would guess, and its a WILD guess, 1/2 to 3/4 of a million for it all.

I'm thinking it was probably more than that.

80 acre farm with stream in Kansas = $100K to $200K
Build a pond = $50K to $100K

Modest 1600 sq. ft DIY house = $150K

What it could sell for afterward? That's a different story.
