I'm not sure I trust Sam Raimi anymore after the shit that was Spiderman 3. I mean Uwe Boll couldn't have fucked up a movie more than that!

You know it's just a caffeine drink, right? I agree that caffeine is awesome and makes gaming a lot more fun, but you can save a lot of money by getting some pills from your local GNC.

I'm not trying to push caffeine. I just have a personal crusade against overpriced drinks consisting of a standard can of coke and a 5 cent caffeine pill. How that adds up to 2 or 3 dollars per can, I don't yet understand.

The movie is going to occur before the World of Warcraft timeline and be focused around "unknown" characters or something along those lines. It's not a World of Warcraft movie, but rather a Warcraft movie. I mean, their major hurdles are not trying to assume that a viewer going in should know all of the stories that occurred before in any of the Warcraft games, which is hard. It'd be like starting with Return of the King, but that may be their reasoning for using newer characters and having the well-known people in more of cameo roles.

Too bad they were beaten to the punch several years ago. Whores of Warcraft.

I watched that. It was pretty much just a porn with chain mail and elf ears shot in a forest.

Should also be noted that Chris Metzen, Blizzard's chief story dude (my not-so-eloquent title for him), has his hands on the project as well. I have no idea of his exact involvement in the project, but I assume he may write the back story and they hire screenwriters to do the screenplay (and he may validate it... who knows).

The movie's gonna be boring. I mean come on, they'll have to spend at least 45 mins with the cast farming for gold.

This joke is so new and original. Please enlighten us further with your witty and fresh WoW jokes.

I'm not really surprised they are doing a Warcraft movie. I dont see why others here may be surprised. Hollywood has been desperate for new ideas for years now. As far as director choice they could have chosen far worse than Sam Raimi. Script and actor choices are going to be a huge determination on how well the movie is. Personally I'd like to see them produce a blockbuster hit but we'll have to wait and see how well it does. Assuming they can get it produced and in the can as they say. I'm guessing a 2011 release date?

Potential Arthas??

We don't even know if it will be based on the events of WarCraft 3, it could be a movie relating to the events of the original WarCraft, unless they somehow make a trilogy, covering the three games' events, or perhaps worse, making one movie combining all of the game trilogy's events, that would be absolutely pathetic.

I would imagine that they will use a story based heavily on Thrall/Jaina's era as that puts the two factions on somewhat even footing and Blizzard has been fairly adamant lately about making the Horde more misunderstood races then evil as they are in WC1/WC2.

I would hope they would go CGI as the level of special effects required to pull off the Warcraft setting properly would be too over the top for live action IMO. Outside of Rogues, Hunters and Warriors pretty much everything every other class does would be pure fx.

Not sure what prices are like where you live, but around here Gamer Fuel is cheaper then Coke(promo soda, runs $.99 for a 20oz while Coke is $1.49).

Yeah!!!! Extreme!!!

Gameing Fuel? That's a new one on me. Don't think I've ever even seen it. Probably illegal here in Canada due to the caffeine content.

Hmm, a WoW movie? ZZZZZZZZ... uh, what were we taking about? 😛

I am still waiting for a BC cameo in Legend of the Seeker 🙂

I really like the cameos from some of the old Hercules and Xena characters, especially the guy who played Joxer. While not exactly good or true to the books, the show captures the same cheesy adventureyness of Hercules and Xena, which is what I think he was going for. TV shows with a complex plot get the ax before the first season's through, so I can see why they'd stray from the books to turn it into mostly self contained 45 minute adventures. The books weren't that great anyway and they turned into an Ayn Rand advertisement around book 4, so it's no big loss.

Holy jesus. I came in here looking to brutalize the idea of such a dumb movie.

*looks at director*

Welp, they have my money.

Yea i know we don't know where/when it will be set. I was just watching true blood and eric from the show looks a lot like Arthas IMO. Would just be funny.

I have faith in Rami, I couldn't care less about the Spiderman movies, but the Evil Dead movies fucking own. Speaking of Spiderman, why does everyone whine about 3? It was no better or worse than the other ones IMO, none of them had stories worth crap, they were all effects, I don't see how 3 is any different compared to 1&2... 😕

Oh and caffeine is worthless.

Neither 1 nor 2 portrayed Peter Parker as an angsty, emo douchebag replete with 10 minute strutting and dancing interlude/montage.
