I have faith in Rami, I couldn't care less about the Spiderman movies, but the Evil Dead movies fucking own. Speaking of Spiderman, why does everyone whine about 3? It was no better or worse than the other ones IMO, none of them had stories worth crap, they were all effects, I don't see how 3 is any different compared to 1&2... 😕

Oh and caffeine is worthless.

3 is far worse than 1&2. they have spider man go emo.

After the countless hours and money I've spent playing WoW, I might as well blow 2-3hrs and $11 on a movie ticket to see this when it comes out.

Besides, there actually have been a few movies based on games that weren't terrible. The first Resident Evil wasn't bad, and while not exactly good, I thought the Doom movie was surprisingly decent considering it was based on Doom and starred The Rock. ...and in case you're curious... no, I wouldn't say that to The Rock's face. 🙂

Apparently you have forgotten the part where the movie goes first person and an announcer yells "Rampage" or something like that when the good guy injects himself and goes all badass. Terrible. I'd rather watch the Mario Bros movie, it's like an acid trip.

I started losing faith in Blizzard when they canned the Warcraft adventure game. My faith in them dropped even father when they made WoW and then further still when they canned Starcraft: Ghost. Despite Diablo3, this movie is causing me to never want to give Blizzard any more of my money even again.

I hadn't forgotten that, but that part was:

1) Expected and somewhat obligatory to pay homage to the game and the FPS genre.
2) Not very long.

Again, I didn't say it was good per se, just that it had the potential to suck way more than it did. I was pleasantly surprised, and I didn't feel robbed of my time watching it for free On Demand from Comcast.

Granted, the potential for a much better movie is there with the Warcraft flick because you actually have a decent set of characters and a solid story to work with from the start.

Sam Raimi's track record for fantasy: Hercules, Zena, Legend of the Seeker. All in common: uncomfortably bad acting, like the actors themselves don't even believe what they are saying.

making a film from a videogame is a bit difficult but if they manage to modify the story a bit to avoid to make it too video-gamish it can be good, the warcraft world is the most solid story ever seen on a video game.

Why did making WoW make you lose faith? It is in all aspects a great game. Starcraft: Ghost was canned because it looked like ass and wasn't even developed by blizzard and the other studio was doing a horrible job with it. Blizzard is still one of the best video game companies in the world, they only release quality games, so I expect the movie to follow suit.

I don't agree that if you make good video games, the movie will also be good. Look at Id, I love all the Doom games, but the movie was lame.

Sam Raimy may have made a few good movies (Evil Dead series and Spiderman 1&2) but his fantasy history is pretty bad. I love the Goodkind books, but the Legend of the Seeker series is painfully bad. I hope the WC movie is good, but I am not crossing my fingers.

Side Note - I really hope no Wayans are in the film, or you know it will be bad (think D&D).

This movie is going to a blockbuster like "Lord of the Ring trilogy"
Same style, similar story and settings. Looking forward to it.
