I would surmise that the only crippling effects on the old celerons was cache, 128k is just not enough for the pentium 4 architecture.

the FSB increase and 512k cache would pretty much make it like an equivalent P4C without HT, correct?

Me neither but the benchmarks showed decent performance. Even outting the XP with lower rated Celerons. I wonder what the price will be and how Sempron will compare.

It beats the XP in a few, and the XP beats it in many of the benchmarks. Big deal.

It's a huge deal for Intel. Look at their old Celerons
