just thought I'd mention this:

I have an AMD XP 1800 processor and a radeon 8500 64mb, and the game does run, it just looks like crap.

I have the same CPU and vid card.. was excited when I finished downloading and installing the demo and was expecting some pretty amazing graphics.. wound up pretty disappointed.. graphics looked worse than I remembered BF1 looking, even though I turned up all the features available to me in the settings. Looks like my 8500 is too old and doesn't have the features that will show the eye candy to make the game look nice. Still, it's cool to know such an old card can still run a new game like that. I love my 8500 still since you get a very sharp display and it has dual ramdacs and quality TV OUT. The 1800+ chip is still a good one too; my system still feels very snappy.

Oh well, as long as the 8500 runs MOHAA well, I'm happy :) Still enjoy playing htat online. Was hoping BF2 shooting would have improved to be more accurate like MOHAA, but it seems to be about the same as BF1.

Whew. Just copped a 9100 64mb PCI for the Dimension 2400, so it should be good to go (regardless of how borderline we're talkin)...

Battlefield 2 will run on a Geforce 4. It just requires a workaround.

Hell, even my 1.2GHz Athlon thunderbird, 384MB RAM, GF4 Ti 4400 will run it.

How? Google "TatniumD3D"

The game runs smoothly. All that's lost are a few textures, a few minor quirks, and the water is green. It's still being updated though.

Have you guys noticed that your fps sometimes stutters/drops down when you fly for the first/second time on a map? Do I need to make a setting low?
