Argh......it detects everything i have installed, hard drive, dvd drive, I don't have a floppy drive on it. It gets to where its going to start up and its detecting things then it just goes to this screen that says "push any key to restart" and no matter what i do it keeps doing that, i even have tried to make it boot frist from the dvd drive that i have a windows disk in, nooooooo, someone help, pleaseeeeee -

system info-
Asus p4s333 mobo
seagate IV 80gig set as primary master
lite on 16x dvd set as secondary master

i'm running out of all ideas here, it detects the processor fine, the hd, the dvd drive and the 512mb ddr ram. :(:frown:

I seem to recall one computer I built wouldn't boot without a floppy drive installed for some reason. Go buy a cheap used one for $5-10 and see if that works.

Check the BIOS settings for Boot Order. Make it be CD-ROM for the first boot device and HDD-0 for the second. Disable the floppy port, and make sure you don't have a 3-1/2 or 5-1/4 chosen on the main BIOS screen.

Control + Break used to work on some older systems I worked on.

Is the hard drive brand new? Has it been fdisked? If not, there's no way command will even know that a C drive exists . . . as for booting from DVD- that should work. What Windows CD is it? I know that some earlier ones aren't bootable CD's.
