Pity the batteries run out fast, having your Smog lamps on all the time must really drain them.

Yeah Most Wanted puts me in the speeding mood as well...

Its just a little more dangerous for me cause I drive a Monte Carlo with PCM mods to remove all RPM limiters, speed governer, as well as air intake & fuel restriction. Oh yeah plus 2" lowering kit, cold air intake, street radials bla, bla - you get the idea :D

I give myself a 30 minute NFS:MW cool down period before driving.

Monte Carlo? Gear down big shifter... that is so much like the cars in the game.. wow... i know this has nothing to do with the original post but seriously, no reason to get all juiced up in a 16 second car...

Thanks for the helpful post!

So I'm guessing your car goes 145MPH as well?

I guess I gotta keep saving for my Caymen S...

A lot of cars can hit 145mph... The question is, how long does it take?

Well, my Monte ran 16's at stock (1/4 mile drag)

But now it hits low 13's (engine/tranny swap)

I know its not anything like the cars on NFS:MW, but I doubt many people drive 13 sec. cars to work every morning?!? I guess I could be wrong...

just remember, there is no reset button or save point in real life.

if you crash, you'll live with it.. and your wallet will be hit :p

Well, low 13's is a respectable quarter mile. The only problem is that is a Monte Carlo... Not here to rip on you, but your ride leaves much to be desired. As long as you are happy, that is all that matters though. But for a quater mile that is not bad... I just wonder how long your car will last, that is the question.

It isn't hard to make a sub 13 second quarter mile car. I know many who simply bought a base V8 mustang and used a paxton supercharger to hit high 12's... Relatively cheap, fast... But again, not a nice car in general and who knows how long it will last.

Well, considering I paid 3,000 for my car without an engine or tranny and did all of the mods myself

Anybody can go buy a fast car, but can they build one? I haven't even spent $10,000 on my car yet.

That is true, but that could also be as corny as saying someone built their own house, instead of buying one. I mean, it is great that you are able to rebuilt an engine and modify it, but at the end of the day, does it really matter? That applies to everything we do in life... It is just one hobby or another. You will become good at whatever you put your time into, usually. Needless to say, I am impressed that you were able to rebuild the mechanics of the car.

In GrimlyKindos defense, i did own a grand prix gtp and it does take a lot of work to reach the thirteens, i reached high thirteens after lots of loot and time... the 3800 series two is a hell of a motor... i just prefer the one in the pontiac... oh and my RX-8 Shinka will do 145 with one gear left...
