OMG, my second partition just disappeared!!! Windows says there's no file system and that it's not formatted!!

That was my backup partition! I had ALL of the install files on that partition so that i can do a quick reformat, but now it's gone!! What can i do? And what happened?! When i left today the partition was still there. Now most programs are running slow, and i'm just pissed in general. AND the western digital tools tell me that my drive is NOT a western digital drive (it is one btw).

That's interesting....what version of Windows is it? If it's XP, go to device manager, then click on the hard drive, then the volumes tab and hit "Populate". That'd be a way to see if it's there.

If you're running 2000 or XP, right click on My Computer and go to "Manage", then Disk Management. That should show u the partitions as well.

Ok, i just checked. And it looks as if my second partition (drive E) just somehow un-filesystem'ed and unformatted itself!! What the hell?! It's sitting at 100% free space, 25 gigs of 25 gigs. Another strange thing is that Device Manager is telling me my hard drive is SCSI, even though it's just an IDE drive. Now i'm just confused...

I'd probably try to put it in another comp and see what it says. Did you do anyting recent to your computer before this happened?

Nope, i just turned off my computer this morning and hung out with my friends. Haven't touched the computer. BUT, my cousin, she may have fiddled with the computer. But she only has access to the guest account, so i don't know.

You're sure you don't have a boot sector virus or something? Maybe somebody powered the machine off/on when you weren't around, or the electricity went off for a few minutes? If you have Norton you could attempt to repair/recover the drive, but it doesn't always work.
