4 years and it's finally (almost) completely done! I'm stunned at the moment  Just have to get new photographs, make an appt at our nearest center for another fingerprinting and a signature sample, and we get our passports stamped stating that we have Landed Permanent Resident status until the actual Green Cards (they're really pink) arrive! I'm so freakin' psyched at the moment and it's too early to drink! (okay... some might dispute that fact! ;) )

Congrats Geoffs :):)

Not to get too political, but it's refreshing to see someone have such a positive attitude about the United States!

I also do not want to get too political, but it is also refreshing to see that someone is actually still willing to go through the imigration process, the right way!

Congrats to you my friend!

LOL! There were times I considered making a raft, throwing it into Lake Champlain (you know.. the lake between northern NY and VT that was deemed a Great Lake for a few weeks!), changing my name and trying to claim refugee status!

Seriously... I don't know how some people make it through the process... the legal bills are not trivial! :(

Congratulations GeoffS! The wait for the real card can be another long wait. But that part is trivial now.

That's what I've read... maybe 3 months... but the I-551 stamp in the passport indicates that out status has been adjusted, so I'm not too concerned about that. :)

Now, it's  time! :p
