Luckily 911 doesn't care about a stolen car, so I was saved the embarrassment when I remembered that I'd backed it into the garage to keep it from getting hail damage.

Anybody have experiences w\ auto theft? I had my 97 Honda Accord stolen about 4 years ago. Had it for a few months, had paid $4k cash for it ( 85k miles) and then got it back and had to put $1500 into repairs and then got ~$3500 for it.

Apparently w\ the 90's generation hondas you only need a flat head screw driver to break in and start the car.

Don't worry, soon enough it will have a huge, ugly spoiler on it, and a piece of shit fart can on it. They might repaint it hot pink, and also put on some ugly-ass "FLOWMASTER" stickers on it, too.

So... not stolen. Misleading thread title, should be "can't remember where I parked my car."

Well, I thought it was stolen and called 911. But 911 could care less about somebodies property being stolen.

Why the fuck would you call 911 for a stolen car?
How is that an emergency?

My dad's '96 honda was stolen along with 4 others in the area. It was part of a gang initiation, the detective speculated. The funny part is that they stole the crappy radio and the crappy classical cd's, but left the $1500 golf clubs in the trunk. My dad was ecstatic.

I had two or three bikes stolen while growing up. Makes you very sympathetic for the plight of the poor, underprivileged kids that had to resort to stealing just to have the joy of riding a bike.

Honestly, not all that upset, and I really do hope that, while riding my bike, they either veered into the street and were hit by an oncoming bus or hit a rock and were thrown from the bike, snapping their neck. But other than that, I wish them all the best.

At least you hadn't actually called the police yet.

I had a friend who thought his car had been stolen out of a Walmart parking lot. He called the police, who showed up, took the plate number of his car, and promptly found it in the parking lot on the other side of the store. Apparently, there were two entrances, one on each side of the store, and he didn't realize this. I'd imagine that that would be rather embarrassing. :p

2 vehicles have been stolen
Camry from a parking garage while eating supper. Recovered 2 months later. Emptied trunk of tools.

Wife's LeBaron convertible from the gated apartment complex. Recovered 2 days later. $6K worth of damage for a joy ride and stolen $100 stereo.

I remember my aunts 93 Accord. It was stolen 3 times.

that said, the car had amazing gas mileage....

Of course... nothing beats the time when someone broke into my car and left his keys in the front seat...

So long as your Credence is still safe.

Had a new Mag Scrambler stolen when I was a kid. Total bummer.

I used to live with a room mate that called the fire department when our basement had one or two inches of standing water in it.
