By the time she's 8 Computers will be just another household appliance like a TV or a Microwave.

That's pretty damn impressive for a 3 year old, amazing!

I didn't start until around 9 or so I think? Whenever I got my first Commodore VIC 20, hooked up to a small 19" TV, ah those were the days.

My son's daycare has computers in all the rooms with kids 3 and up. He's been all over some little kiddie progs for about a year now. He figured out who's profiles belong to who on XP, knows how to log off/switch users etc. I usually drop the res down to 800x600 for him when he does kidpix at home, so it isn't so small. but i've found him playing it several times @ 1600x1200 without any probs despite how small everything is. He even navigates past/thru the occasional error messages that pop up in Kid pix when loading!!

He's always right there with me too when I've got the box opened up for whatever reason.

I wonder how many geeks we got here under 5 years old!!!

I wish that feature was supported in XP Pro. The Princess loved clicking on her own picture to load her own settings. She still asks about it. 😱

BTW: Upgraded to XP Pro on that machine so I wouldn't get any more calls at work from MTG saying "I'm trying to finish a query letter, but the printer won't print again."

Quick! Support a healthy eating habit, excersize regulalrly, and show him how to program! Kids will only follow your example for so long before you become a dinosaur.

My son's 3 years old and can now navigate Sesamestreet.com and play all flash games :Q the crazy thing is that he learned just by watching me play the games for him. He now has the dexterity to move the mouse around and click moving objects. Crazy.

It took me days to teach my parents how to surf the web 😛

hmmmmmmmmm, be careful when your surfing for porn then.

🙂

Stop the kid... by the time he's 6 he'll be spending 8 hours a day on a computer, by the time he's 15 he'll be 12 hours, and by the time he's 18 he'll be blind.
