OMG! Marion Hossa a Detroit Red Wing!

Booo and the stupid Canucks are going for Sundin...WTF? So irritated by that.

What's the point in doing 1-yr? You manage to get a big name (especially a guy in his prime), you want him around for a long time... 3-4 years.

Hossa really is banking on another big year and gambling for more money next year? This is why players want longer-term contracts... financial security regardless of performance.

This is life in the salary cap era. I believe both Zetterberg's and Franzen's contracts are up after next year. The Wings will want the option of being able to play all their cards.

Yeah, Sundin wanted 2 years, $20 million.

I thought the Canucks were the ones that offered him 2 years, 20 mill. Either way, Mats is way past his prime and should retire. 😛

I'm irritated that the Sharks haven't signed anyone and now all the big names (sans Sundin) are all snatched up at this point. Doug Wilson must be on vacation and completely forgot about the free agency period. 🙁

Yeah, they offered him that. I hope he declines, this gives me the same feeling I had when they signed Messier, which is to say a very bad feeling.

It's clear Hossa wasn't getting what he wanted, so he is taking the one year deal to be on a great team where his stats will likely be good and he'll have a great chance to bring home a cup...

OH.

MY.

GOD.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!

🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

WTF?

I suppose this will be the move that puts the Wings over the top and gives them a shot at the Stanley Cup. Oh wait, shit.

The rich get richer? Fuck that. Fuck the red wings. I will be praying for injuries this year. Hopefully delivered by some terrible goon like Bertuzzi or Downey or god damn McSorley comin out of retirement.

Don't count out that Bertuzzi won't be a Red Wing. I don't believe either side burned any bridges there. I don't think Aaron Downey is coming back and if Dallas Drake retires that opens up a hole Bertuzzi will nicely fill.

Logic Dictates that he will either get injured or have a sub par season. Detroit will not make the playoffs and next year his offers will be half that of what he got offered this year.

He is dumb for taking a 1 year deal.
