You better order the next game, 'cause you be finished by the weekend. 😉

I agree

That is why I am playing WOW instead of HL2 😉

Ausm

I have both. WoW is dangerously addicting though 😀

WoW is a RTS right? I hate RTS games...

MMORPG

Ahhh....IE it requires an account and you play online correct? Are single player RPG's fading or what?

The RPG KotOR was only like "the game of the year" last year(or was it the year before 🙂)

"Insert CD 4" :|

When the fvck are they going to have these games on DVD without charging an arm and a leg for the "collectors edition"?

When CD's are replaced by DVDs as a standard in the majority?

But it shouldn't be any more cost for them really to put the game on one DVD vs 5 CD's and simply sell both. I would pay maybe an extra $5 or so for the DVD Version, but that's it.

OMFG

The 4th CD just gave me an error message about copying a file and crapped out! :|

WTF!

I have to do all this again....?!?!

I have KOTOR and I HATE IT. I tried to get into it twice, and it just sucked.

Of course, my hatred for everything Star Wars is probably a big part of it.

I've never liked Bioware games anyhow...

So... you know you don't like Bioware's style of gaming. You know that you hate Star Wars. What does your dumbass do? Buy KOTOR - then you're all surprised when you find out you hate it too? Jesus, you're a winner!

It may not cost them any extra to put it on DVD vs. 5 CD's, but it certainly costs them extra to put it on DVD AND 5 CD's.

You bought a game with a genre you hate by a company you don't like?😕

Well, I was dying for a good RPG, and I kept hearing about how great it was. Also, the previous bioware game, I had actually liked...NWN, so I thought I would give it a chance.

Well, it happened again... I can't beleive I got a defective copy of the game. Now I have to pay shipping back? GAH! :|

Thanks for the heads up...apparently you HAVE to install CS : Source as well, or it errors out.

Take 3!

Steam FAQ

Half-Life 2 CD Installation, cabinet file error, fatal disk error, or something similar.
Question

If during the initial installation process the option to install "Counter-Strike: Source" is NOT selected, an error may occur during installation. The message will be: cabinet file error, fatal disk error, or something similar.
Answer

If you receive one of these errors you will need to do the following:

Cancel the current installation process and reinstall the game from the beginning, starting with Disk #1. Make certain to select the option to install both Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source.

Note: If you prefer not to retain the Counter-Strike: Source program on your system AFTER INSTALLATION, you can
remove it using the following procedure:
* After Half-Life 2 has been successfully installed, open up the Steam client.
* Select the Play Games list
* RIGHT click on Counter-Strike: Source and select Properties
* Select "Delete Local Content."

It's not going to change with a new copy. I had the exact same problem with 2 different copies.

How did I fix it? Installed Steam, updated Steam, rebooted. Installed perfectly after reboot.

And if that doesn't work, copy the contents of the CDs to your hard drive, and run the installer from there.

I'm almost considering dusting off the couple years worth of dust on my Xbox and picking up Fable...anyone try it?

"Install Disc 5"

Phew.

Did you choose not to install CS:Source during the install? Wow... that's really stupid that a required element for proper function can be left off the to-be-installed list. :Q
