My friend spilt a beer on my keyboard at a party I had and I had to get a new one due to smell and stickyness.

I spill coffee on my keyboard at least twice a week and it still works fine (except for a few sticky keys). I just let my keyboard soak in the tub once a month and make sure its completely dry before plugging it back in.
