Ok, I need to get an air conditioner. It's 8pm and my tivo's just shut themselves down for thermal protection. Is it just California that's sweating to the oldies?
 
Do you live inside a steel box lined with fiberglass or something? Why is your house so hot? In CA, no less! Most apts/homes in hot climates have central AC...unless you live in the slums.

Oh...(damn..I know almost nothing about CA...what to say????) Well....um, buy a damn AC unit! Yeah...what I said!

I think Palo Alto is northern CA, right?

I grew up in NYC, in a lower-class apartment building of about, oh, 1,000 people or so. 😱 We had no AC. Most of the time, we had no heat, either.

NYC is a bitch; hot in summer, icy cold in winter...you can't win.

Oh please, try upstate NY. Same heat and cold, but add 100 inches of snow to the mix in the winter. Don't get as much of that in NYC.

Or have you thought that maybe . . . just maybe the AC is malfunctioning? When I lived at apartments, for one reason or another the ACs were malfunctioning. In spite of repeated calls to the landlords, they never seemed able to fix it to work perfectly well. And even in decent areas, not all apartments have ACs. Remember it's CA, so the urge to have ACs in every decent apartment is absent, since we don't make it in the list of sweaty states or cities.

*Chuckles!* Haha! Well, what can I say . . . you know I don't play Diablo. 😱 😉 Really though, I would take your blessing, except it's a semi-curse. I can't be as dressy as the East Coasters during Winter. So I must take the hot summer, so I can wear what I really like. 😉 I have the great luxury of functioning ACs now. 😛 It even gets too cold for a lanky person, but it's still fair. But thanks for the blessings, nonetheless. 😉
