There was a "FIOS party" at my complex today. I was getting all excited. Free pizza...hot marketing chicks....AND FIOS......

actually...no....

Turns out that my complex is not ready for it yet. Yes, my complex is the only one🙁 Way to dangle it in my face.

UPDATE:

Called them today....yup, it's here. Some reason, the "fios fair" shows it as unavailable, but the person over the phone said it was. Yes. It is gonna be here on the 19th!

The only con is that I thought it would be a little cheaper than comcast, but it's the same price (with no promotions).....

Also, is it supposed to come in via coax? They told me that it has to come in via coax.

So, what? Your whole complex isn't ready? Why have a party? Or do you mean your specific building?

just my building🙁 There are around 20-30 buildings.....

Hehe...I like the fact that more emphasis is placed on FIOS than hot marketing chicks and free pizza - really shows our inner nerd. It reminds me of the time that when my family moved to a new neighborhood, some neighbors came over to welcome us with their hot daughter. My brother was mostly staring at their powerful car.

I love powerful cars.

They're probably using your building's existing coaxial cable plant instead of running fiber to every unit. Should be no big deal.

Each building gets fiber. The hundred or so feet to your actual residence will be over copper.

It is the same at a normal home. fiber to the dmarc, copper in the walls.

Congrats btw OP!
