1. Boil pasta
2. Drain, put back in big pot
3. Add olive oil, oregano, basil, rosemary, garlic, and sage. Maybe butter if you want.
4. Mix, and enjoy the pay-off of laziness.
5. ...
6. No, wait, you'd be too full of goodness for the making of profit.

12 minutes? Olive oil? Enjoy your mush.

Nah, its a touch of olive oil, not alot. It helps it from being sticky. You like sticky spaghetti? 12 mins is pretty standard for cooking pasta, how long do you cook yours?
8 minutes max if boxed pasta, less if fresh. Oil just floats on the surface and really doesn't do anything. If it does by chance (or vigorous stirring) get on the pasta, it prevents sauces from adhering to the pasta.

I will admit though, the time you cook pasta does depend on your stove, the amount of pasta and water, the pot you're using, etc. However, I don't think I've ever cooked pasta that long before.

I guess I've never really counted the mins, because I test my pasta (press it against the side of the pot) and then chew on a single peice to see to make sure its jsut right. I guess I always thought 12 mins was the standard.
