Fuck CNN videos.
In fact, fuck vids in general. They are still inferior to text for passing on information.
Cracked.com has been doing it too, and I hate it.

Indeed! I could read all of yesterday's news before they stop buffering. Very annoying.

Sadly it won't be long till you can only get news from that site by watching a video. It seems like everytime I go there the ratio of videos to articles with actual words shifts in favor of the videos *grumble*

Yep, which means that for me I spend less and less time getting news from CNN.com.

Some lawyer is going to have a field day with this.

I bet some of the guys that trashed out her place pocketed some of her stuff, it looks like she had a nice place.

LOL @ 5k offer

What BS

She should legally be allowed to kick them in the genitals for offering such a ridiculous counter offer.

If she has renters/home owners insurance, she could submit a claim. I'm thinking that an army of attorneys could make her things re-appear quicker than just asking nicely.

You know, the bank could have sold that unit for $50,000 and saved a bundle in losses.

They might have only done that so it has to go through their insurance company. If they simply paid her the insurance company probably wouldn't have reimbursed them. Now she sues and the insurance company settles.

Holy crap that has got to suck. I am pissed off for her. Imagine all your stuff GONE. That's equivalent to coming home to a flood, fire, sewerbackup, etc... probably even worse knowing that it could have easily been prevented and it was an act of stupidity.

Hopefully those people pay big time.

Do they really just trash everything on a foreclosure? I would have figured they at least store it somewhere then eventually sell it off or something, that's quite wasteful.

Damn, she seemed pretty calm in that video. I'd be furious.

I dunno.. She still seems to have that "wtf just happenend to me" look. What would have happened if she had a cat or dog?

With this lady's bad luck? They'd probably be sent to a pound that practices euthanasia and wouldn't find out until it was too late :(

Time to lawyer up. $5k counter offer? You thought asking for $200k before the lawyer was too much...

I'd start with criminal charges just to wake up the realtors and the hired hands. It was theft by any definition, regardless of how it came to pass.

There was a case where Countrywide did the same thing, and they got their asses sued into oblivion. The award was like 4 million, although it later got appealed down to like 1.5 or something. I wish I could find the link for it.

I gotta admit, if I were that chick I'd find the scummiest lawyer there is and do everything possible to destroy the lives of the people who made the mistake. Making a mistake is one thing, offering 5 grand to rectify something like that shows a DEEP lack of character. I hope the condo owner ruins them.

Completely agree, any moron could see that asking only $200,000 is pretty low considering what the situation is...to shoot back a $5,000 offer is just plain insulting...

I am pretty calm, more so than most...but something like this would just have me outraged...I would have just sued from the get go, times like these require that companies like this get raped...learn a lesson bitches!

Saw this 2 days ago, the police didn't even help the lady when she told them her stuff was taken.

More updates: http://www.lasvegasnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=11710384 Lawyer for the real estate company admits to the news that basically she didn't have that much stuff to begin with. (what kind of lawyer would be that dumb to admit fault?)
