Im at my gaming rig which consist of a 1.2ghz AMD Tbird,512ddr,Geforce3,audigy gamerX, and Im running Windows XP pro. Im playing my first person shooter when it just out of the blue reboots while Im in the middle of a game. Im like WTF!!!!!!! why????
The only thing Ive changed before the problem was adding 256ddr ram which is the exact same brand and part number as the memory Im using and I added the GamerX sound card. I also jacked around with the bios abit but Im pretty sure I restored them back to there normal settings. Im sooooo stumped any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to suspect that those changes you made to your system be it hardware or bios tweaks is the culprit .

Have you tried taking the ram out and testing your pc in the same game and then try the same thing with your sound card ? , basically your trying to recreate the error your getting.

That would be my first solution to try.

One other thing , also make sure that stick of ram is firmly seated into it's slot as it is very easy to think it is correctly inserted.

How many watts is your PSU? Random reboots like you describe are usually issues with a power supply that cannot supply enough power for all components (either too little to begin with or dying) When you added a new sound card and ram, it may have been the straw that broke the camels back. if you have another ATX AMD approved PSU at least 300 watts I would try it out, if not, I would suggest purchasing one, I would recommend at least 300 watts, 350 would be preferable, but I think a quality 300 watt psu will do the job.
