I just found something that redefines my idea of pure audio goodness. I found an electric version of SRV's version of Little Wing. It's mostly him anyways. Oh goodness.
My version is called: Eric Johnson, J.Satriani, Steve Vai, S.mp3
(stupid people on kazaa don't know how to name mp3s)
Anyways, it sounds to be a bunch of guys playing together, but the guy doing most of the solo work is unmistakably SRV 😀
Keep in mind that there is an G3 recording of Little Wings floating around. I can't confirm if it's 101% true ... I'll try to check the setlists from 6 years ago.
That'd be sweet.
One other thing I've been looking for: There are some videos of him during his MTV unplugged show, and I've found Pride and Joy. I think that session was the one where he recorded that acoustic 12 string guitar solo too. I've got the mp3 of that, but I'd really love to see that video some time. I haven't been able to find it yet though...
Check the Id3 tags if there's any reference to SampleAccurate.com ... if so, it's probably stuff from this cover band.
And I mixed up things related to G3 ... Kenny Wayne plays Voodoo Child (JH song), and Eric Johnson plays SRV (a tribute to the legend).
