that is why they have urgent care. is your checkup urgent? a month wait for a physical or the like is very common.

You should try in Vegas, it takes at least six weeks, and is getting worse. The malpractice insurance went from $50K to over $170K this year, yes $170,000/year. We have been losing docs left and right, which is not good for a city that gets 5,000 new residents each month.

<< yikes. damn....healthcare really sucks in this country >>

That if you have an HMO.. if you got a PPO and you pay your nose thru it.. you can get your checkup today if you want.

<--- PPO all the way baby.

It usually takes three months here, but that is because I specify which doctor I want. Yesterday I needed to get some tests done, called in around 10am, had a 2:45 appointment. :)

Dang...that's pretty awful.

So whose fault is it?

Its f*cking BS.... My girlfriend had a suspicious growth on her leg and tried to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist... It took nearly 6 weeks to get in and have it looked at... they did a biopsy on it and she found out yesterday its Melanoma skin cancer....

They call her yesterday evening and told her this with out any follow through, just a referral number to call at OHSU... Finally got the ball rolling today, and now have another appointment on Thursday... But the six week delay could have been crucial... We are both just numb at how this is handled... Just total BS....
