Techs best of luck on the recovery. Hopefully the worst is behind you.

All I needed to do was was show my state health insurance card

Which state?

OP, did you lose your kidney(s)? If so, how often are you in dialysis? (I sincerely hope that you still have a kidney and are not on dialysis)

dang techs

did they get all of it?

Unfair question to ask. The greatest risk with cancer is that it will "return" because it was not all gotten, and not for lack of want nor trying. They intend to save him, they hope they have, but the story of his journey is far from over.

He will only know the answer to your question as the next few years pass by.

I'm glad you're recovering well. Do whatever physical rehab you can and try to stay off too many pain meds. Fight/treat inflamation before treating pain... Pain meds can wreck your life in many ways.

What scares me the most about healthcare is the antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria in our hospitals that could be cleaned with a little bleach and/or iodine. Many hospitals don't properly disinfect all surfaces and as a result are dangerous places to be when you aren't well.

The second problem I have is the middlemen involved in healthcare. That includes insurance companies, billing companies on doctor's behalf, and hospitals. Insurance companies take money from people and try to pay as little as possible...potentially leaving the customer with a bill for things that should be or used to be covered. Billing companies and hospitals often inflate the healthcare costs to turn a ridiculous profit...though hospitals *claim they do it because they see so many patients that don't pay.

I got squeamish reading the part of needing numerous infusions just to keep your spine together. >.< You're pretty brave. I hope the cancer is gone for good.

Still have both kidneys. Though the oncologist might want one for his collection.

Here's hoping for the best in your recovering techs, and I'm glad you had no issue with your treatment or coverage. That's how it should be.

Best of luck in your treatment, its the product of a messy and complicated system, and until recently the best in the world.

We've had our differences in the past techs, but glad to hear things are being taken care of, and hope everything turns out well for you.

I wish you the best, but all these cancer threads now have to be some kind of joke I hope.

Health care does vary based on area.

Can you qualify where you are at and what insurance is working? It may help others.
