My start menu is a MESS with all the programs installed. So I started brainstorming..... hmmm..... here's what I got:

1. Create three folders: Easy Access, Internet Access, and Multimedia
2. From each program folder, I just move each shortcut into one of the three folders. For example, Nero Express would go into Multimedia; Firefox would go into Internet Access; ESET Anti Virus would go into Easy Access.
3. Erase the program folders to reduce clutter.

Larger applications like Office 2007 that has multiple applications in a folder, I didn't touch. Or Adobe CS Master Edition, etc.

Whatcha think? Or gimme some ideas I can try to reduce clutter..

I just press windows, and type in the program I want, and press enter.

A 100x faster than using the mouse.

I usually do:
Apps - any third party apps
Dev - programming IDE, ...
Games - with subfolders: RPG, FPS, STR
Internet - browsers, chat
MSApps - office, ...

I use Win+R for most things. Otherwise, the most-frequently-used Start Menu we've had since XP has worked fine.

I'm guessing OP sets the Win9x "classic" style.

Loser ;)

1995 called...

This. Also, most of us have moved on and access our MFU programs from the Start menu directly (no programs menu; no Quick Launch bar occupying valuable Task Bar space).

Lol at people saving a milisecond while opening firefox and then wasting 7 minutes watching a video of a "funny" pet.

This. I go into the start menu about once a week and just because I sometimes forget the names of programs I seldom use.
