OMG I found an article about ATi everyone has to read...

just wait 9 more hours.

At first from initial articles i thought ati screwed up with all the tapeouts, delay etc.
But recent articles rumours saying r520 will be 9000+ 3dmark05, better than gtx, u know just wait those 9 hours and counting down, then we may be suprised.

ATI countdown

Guys you can send the bill to Rollo via PM in these forums, just tell him to discount my account because he owes me a ton of money or the time I waste reading his nVidia drivel.

Mark I don't think Jesus, nor our Canadian brothers, would appreciate your inflamatory remarks.

Keys, I guess that was kind of my point. Who is the paper launch really hurting? It's more advertising for ATi for free basically and the guys who are buying these brand new cards are, in large part, the same people who already own a 7800 series or x850...thus it's not hurting anywhere. As for someone taking them ovr, it may be the best thing for them. Microsoft should buy them out & make them the exclusive ship maker for Xboxes.

To quote a very good show on TV, "Zoidberg is right!"

I'm sorry, but you're no better than the nVidiots when you post this kind of inane diatribe. They may be overzealously going to town on the whole XFire situation, but at least they are addressing something that is in fact true. You however just seem to want us to put our heads back in the sand and go "Nothing to see here! ATi is still great for botching launches!" Guess what, the only way to make ATi start being accountable for their recent string of vapourware/press edition launches is to actually call them on it. They keep doing it because they know that apologists like you will come to their defense.

Side note, I think it's odd that Xfire gets all this attention but I don't remember anyone caring much about the mid-level x700XT that ATi launched (with a full AT article covering it) and then never actually got around to releasing but 3-4 cards to the public. I don't think as many people cared because it wasn't the performance crown, but I still thought it was a very underhanded thing for ATi to do.

And NVIDIA has never done anything wrong?

How about their FX line? How about the video acceleration that never worked in the 6800 series? How about NVIDIA paper launches for MANY of their products?

It's a marketing game people. ATI has done just fine. Every company, ATI, NVIDIA, Intel, AMD... EVERY company does paper launches. Get over it.

If a company f***s up they deserve the bad press. Should people just turn their heads?

It's not OK to paper launch. It's not OK to have an inferior product. It's not OK to f*** with your investors.

IT'S NOT OK TO LIE!

Wow dude you must be a beacon of honesty, you should run for pope.

No one likes being lied too, not one person will say "I love it when people lie to me". Therefore, what he expressed is how we all think...

Fascist? Jesus Christ, chill out. Who really gives a crap in the long run whether ATI survives or not? If they can't manage their business then someone else will come along and provide nVidia some competition. That's how it works.

You must be from Canada.

Why did you bring Jesus into the conversation?

Don't fear OP. If ATI is truly being run into the groud by bad management, you can bet the Chinese will swoop in and buy the company and make it better than it ever was. Big Chinese corporations are always looking for "Name Brand Recognized" companies.

So ATI will live on no matter what. Even if it means a corporate restructure and/or takeover.

I hope not, Lenovo has huge QC problems, that is the LAST thing we need.

He didn't. It's called an expression.

He quoted a religious figure. What does that have to do with anything computer related? Whether it is an expression or not.

When I talked to Jesus this morning, before the staff meeting, he said it was ok to quote him.

Edit: but he said to leave Buddha out of it because: a) he is an ATI fanboi; and b) he is upgrading his box to a Prescott and is having heat issues.

Please PM me if you would like to see any other religious figures added to this post.

Oh, and as a side note: people who criticize commercial organizations are not fascist, k? Thx.
