so i was doing 40 in a 25 zone here in BLacksburg, VA. The cops was on the opposite direction of me and he made a U turn. I stoped at the red light and he was right behind me. So he followed me for like the 1/4 mile, i turn into my townhome and he didn't follow me anymore. THank GOODNESS.......................

That is all. What a relief

:)

Perhaps its the "start of the month" deal, ticket quotas reset.

And I base this on no legit information at all.

My guess is he had no way to gauge your speed, so he was pacing you.

Ok, If I see another comment about "quotas" in a cop thread... I dunno.

Just stop already. They don't have quotas.

And.. Lucky! :) I hope that happens to me, often. ;)

Sure, they don't "officially" have quotas, but I imagine if they didn't pass out any tickets they would be called in for review or something.

I had two cops tell me that they do have quotas here in Gainesville. They said "but no one will ever admit it."

I love it when that happens. I did a similar thing the other day, I was going 130 in a 90 zone and it was at night, there were two cops coming towards me in the opposite direction, and I didn't see them. Then one of them turns on his lights and slams on his breaks as if to turn, and I slow down, then the cop turns off his lights and keeps going. Scared the crap outta me but oh well no ticket.

Hmm.... Really?

Strange. I know here in Oregon, a few years back, there was a measure to start paying cops based on how many tickets/etc they gave out. I'm pretty sure it was shot down by a large margin.

Maybe it's different in different parts of the country? I dunno. I've always heard that the quota thing was a bunch of BS.. At least, I've never seen any evidence that they do indeed have quotas.

Where the hell do you live? A 90 zone?

:Q

I mean, I know people in, say, California go that speed regularly, but it's not the official speed limit.

I ran a red light in downtown Seattle at 4am. A cop turned left and followed me.. and surprise, his sirens came on and I was pulled over.

Don't know how I managed to get out of that one.

some cops have ticket quotes and some don't. Black and white dont' have a ticket quote as there primary job is to responde to radio calls. Motorcycles cops on the other hand take there bikes home so they must justify the free gas and free transportation

Really, I took administration of justice class and the teacher was a former lapd officer being on the force for 15 years. He was watch commander when the left force. To be exact he was one of the cop that wrote the rebottle to the report that was published after the 94 betting sorry don't remember the name of the report, this guy is PhD. So you saying that an officer that was on the force for 15 years is wrong in saying that cops due have quotes?

Sure am. Did you take my statement as any less? Of course I seriously doubt he said that, but then again I don't believe you parents make 200k a year and are in debt either. I choose to believe very little of what you say. Secondly, were you not born in the US? LEARN FVCKING ENGLISH. Is that too much to ask?
