I saw that commercial and immediately walked to the PC to see how much the thing cost. And I was quickly disappointed =/.

what? why?

$130 with a 2 year contract is amazing for this phone (if you don't already have sprint). it's a better phone than the iphone and it's cheaper.

Well the $130 wouldn't be bad, but I was hoping to get in on that Sero deal, and I saw that I needed like $65/mo (as opposed to $30 for the other phones).

New SERO plans come out tomorrow (I think), that are rumored to be compatible with the Instinct.

Eits hows the reception on this? I've been thinking about getting it since the phone came out...

reception's about the same as normal... maybe a bar better.

if new sero plans come out tomorrow, i'm calling up and getting back on it.

Aye..I hope someone updates this thread. I'm heading back into a Sprint area soon and I'll buy an instinct if I can use my SERO.

Sprint won't allow the Instinct to PAM. I contacted them and asked if I bought a seperate data plan could I do PAM their answer was no, I could get a USB modem but I could not do PAM. I didn't want two devices so I wait.

Now I am glad I did because I want the new Samsung SGH-i900 Omnia that should be coming out in a couple of months.

that looks marvelous.

i guess i'm sticking with the mogul since it appears the instinct doesn't do PAM as i guessed. they locked down the samsung ace so why not the rest.

I thought the Omnia was a GSM phone. Meaning it would only work on AT&T or T-Mobile

I want to get this phone and switch to Sprint

How do I do the SERO? I think it's too late :(

How is the GPS on this phone? Free? turn-by-turn directions?

You are correct it is a GSM phone. I am currently with AT&T but was tempted to leave for Sprint with new everything plans and the Instinct, but no PAM killed that idea.

I am sure there is a way to make the instinct work as a wireless modem, no?

One reason why I want sprint is because you can download at like 50-80KB/s
that's pretty good

with a valid data plan, possibly.

As I stated in a previous post, I called Sprint and was told that PAM is not available with the Instinct EVEN if I bought a separate data plan. I was told that I would need 2 devices, the instinct for phone and all it does and a USB modem for connecting my laptop.

I have had the Instinct for about two weeks. Sprint Everything 1500 minutes share plan on two phones (they gave me 500 extra so I am really getting 2000) that comes out to about $105 after my corporate discount, way cheaper than anything else. I liked the Iphone but to get the same minutes and everything it would be way more.

First off with the PAM it can be hacked to do it but PAM is not part of Sprints Everything plan. It looked like it?s something that they left open for the future but all new phones on the Everything Plan will not have PAM for now.

The Instinct is a really fun phone but it does have a lot of little bugs and a few big ones that will hopefully be fixed in a month. Also there is a developer contest that sprint is holding for new apps so hopefully something comes of that soon.

Pros:
Navigation is the best I have seen on a phone.
The Live Search works great.
The landscape keyboard and the haptic feedback works great.
The voicemail, email, and messaging all work well.

Cons:
Web browser sucks, But I think this will be fixed soon and Opera mini should also be working on it easily soon.
Will not sync to Outlook.
Roaming cannot be set to forced like other Sprint phones on this phone there is only automatic, I watch my bar go up and down and have had a few dropped calls, I am hoping this will be fixed with firmware update.
When I am on the phone my face sometimes activates things on the touch screen there is no way to lock screen during call, should be fixable.
There is no way to delete some histories like on live searches and messages, but it only holds so much so if you do a live search for things you might not want anybody to see they will be deleted as you populate history with other new things, again I am sure this will be fixed.
I don?t like holding the button on the top to lock and unlock phone.

I am sure I missed a few things, the only thing that still might be a deal breaker to me is the roaming problem if this is not fixed I might not keep the phone.
