The jaw dropping wears off and you get pissed off watching SD content and begin to wish everything was broadcast in HD.

PS: off air is better than cable.

Exactly the reason why I download my shows (in HD) instead of watching them on (SD) TV. Well, that and pausing the show is nice.

And the lack of commercials is just icing on the cake. 😀

wow i had the same feeling when i went from analog to digital OTA signals

hd just in 480i 😛 still GREAT picture

i NEVER see fuzz

Sorry, but 480i is not HD at all. It may be digital, but it isn't HD. I am not questioning your picture improvement with the move to a digital signal, but it is not nearly as significant as the move to HD.

Oh, commercials aren't really too bad. It's my time where I can get a beverage, go to the bathroom or anything else. Although them sneaky people always change the length of commercials on people like me :|.

If I recall, 480i is what's called "EDTV" or Enhanced Digital TV rather than HDTV.

EDIT 2:

Or is that 480p that's EDTV?

How do you watch TV with the TV at head level standing up?

I use my head tilting muscles.

Seriously, when I am sitting in my lazyboy or reclining coutch, its just the perfect watching angle.

I lurve my HDTV!

I'll reiterate the general consensus: get that TV off of the top of that cabinet!

Great looking setup! Eventually, I?ll make mine look good too. It?s not a priority right now.

Thanks. Just wait till you see it after I move my Klipsch Heresy II's to the front speaker channels!

..unfortunately the jaw dropping effect to will wear off eventually.

i know the feeling. I've had my 30" samsung WStube HDTV(480p/1080i) for 5 years now and the HD cable to go with it... or was it four... it's been awhile. Now when I watch TV, i'm thinking to myself .. "Is that HD or not... i can't tell anymore... i'm sooo spoiled now"
I have a westy 37w3 being delivered this friday... I wonder if i'll be able to determine 720p or not.

I get a handful of free HD channels in my basic cable package. It does look better, but not enough for me to ever pay extra for it.

*hugs his ATI HDTV Wonder*... ATI MMC may be meh software, but i've been more than pleased with the performance of the HDTV Wonder
