That controller is hideous.

At least it isn't a big steaming turd of ass-backward design like the DualShock 2.

I'm quite comfortable with the DualShock2. I love wired controllers. Batteries will end up costing you a bloody fortune.

Well as long as you lay down the initial cash for two pairs of rechargables and their associated charger you won't be hurting.

HomeDepot/SamsClub/Walmart you can get packs of 24 AA batteries for like 9 bucks. Or you spend money on 2 sets of NiMH rechargeables...

The controller is battery powered? ROFL! Next gen my ass.

What do you think powers the Xbox 360 and PS3 controllers?

Both of which I have no plans on buying.

Did you want them to be hydro powered or something?

Solar.

Better yet...! Just release a magnet and solonoid attachment!

Nah. Kinetic energy FTW!!!

Personally I won't play any console that doesn't use a ZPM to power its controllers. I mean, the power source of the controller is the defining aspect of console gaming for me. And I don't care how the controller actually feels in my hands, it just needs to look good because I'm a poser a heart.

All the people bitching about it aren't going to buy one anyway. They all make out with their PCs every night.

I am surprised too...it really was a nice controller. I think some people are scared at new things and what they haven't tried. I admit I was very skeptical but it all felt very natural within a minute or two of starting the games.

Change is always hard and I applaude Nintendo for taking the chance honestly. Once it's out to the general public I think people will start to appreciate it more.

But I'm going to bed :p

I've used 2 sets of alkalines in my Wavebirds, in 3 years.

I doubt batteries will be a big deal.

24 for $9? Damn, you can get 48 for $9.xx at Costco. Of course if you have NiMHs you really only want to use alkalines in low-drain devices like TV remote controls.

Nah man, Xbox isn't bad... Well, Xbox S/Xbox 360 isn't bad. It's very similar to the GameCube controller, except that the ABXY buttons are all the same shape. At least the Xbox has decent analog sticks, and they put the left one in the right place! And analog triggers. Gran Turismo is one of the Playstation's best franchises, why the hell don't they put some analog triggers on the controller???!

What do you consider a "bloody fortune"? $10? $15?

lol, great way of putting it. That's what I thought at first as well, but then Nintendo can't have people walking off with the controllers...
