So me and EvilYoda met up tonight and went to the Nintendo Fusion Tour because supposively they had playable Wii demos in the lobbies of the concert venue! The rumor was true so after 10 bucks for parking, 7 bucks for a pitcher of Labatt Blue, and 20 bucks each for a ticket we spent about half an hour of play time on the Wii!!!!!!!!!!

It was freaking amazing. We both played Wii Baseball, Yoda played the shooting range/duck hunt game, and I played ExciteTruck.

Overall impressions- We both loved it. The controller is very touchy and responses to even minor movements. Especially the baseball game. How you hold your arm determines how you pitch, how you swing the bat etc. ExciteTruck is crazy hard but fun. Shooting Range was good. Just have to be slow and controlled.

We also got to watch people play Wii Tennis, Wii Bowling, Wario Ware, and Metroid Prime. Everything was awesome looking and everyone seemed to be getting into it. Crowds of people were flocking just to watch.

Anyways onto the pictures! Pardon the quality Yoda has his SLVR and I had my Samsung A950 so quality is poor in some pics....Oh and 56K warning as some of the pics are 1280x960

Up close a little better quality

Enjoy and feel free to be jealous and ask questions

EDIT:Since some people have commented on the ugliness/comfort of the controller. I would say and I think Yoda would agree that it's actually very comfortable and easy to use. It's powered by 2 AA batteries so it's got some weight to it. Example in the baseball game you use the controller just like a baseball bat. Harder you swing, the harder your player onscreen swings. Same thing with pitching.

LOL, haters.

I got top score on Duck Hunt, beating the next person by 1 point :p

You tell me the controller is awful...and I look at the xbox and say much of the same.

The controller really doesn't look very comfortable. Looks like an old NES controller rotated 90 degrees. Can you comment?

It's not as awful as it looks. It's very flexible in it's use. You can use it vertical or horizontal. It feels weighty enough in your hands and it's very very simplistic and easy to use.

so would you say this is going to be better than 360 and PS3

By the way me and Yoda and everyone else who played were smiling, laughing and gushing over it. Definitely. At times there would be like 100-200 people just watching people play and all the reaction was positive from what I heard.

YES. No doubt in my mind. My credit card is already burning a hole in my wallet.

I don't really get why people are in love with Wii. I have nothing against it. But what's the big deal? Seeing pictures of the controller doesn't get me hyped up.

What they had playing. On par or slightly better than Gamecube. Metroid looked REAL good. They had a time looped demo of Red Steel(nonplayable) and that looked really sharp, probably as good as HL2:Episode 1 I'm sure it'll look better on the finalized versions of the games and once you get past first round of games.

But I definitely think the focus on gameplay was best. I didnt even care how the graphics looked I was having too much fun :)

That's always been Nintendo's "thing" anyway, hasn't it?

Gameplay trumps technical superiority

How is exite truck? What is it comparable to?

I'm sure you can, but we weren't in the menus at all, unless they had to restart a system (batteries died in the controller, etc)
