Hey dumbass, try to see the big picture. Just because Newt can be a dick in a debate doesn't mean he can win the election. Signature style? The man has no style, whatsoever.

Which election are you talking about? one to become the republican nominee? in that case he has a very good chance of winning that. As for the against Obama, noone stand a chance against Obama anyhow... its just fun to watch!!!

Sure is a bigger deal than asking a question about it.

hmm... you are not making much sense. He accepted his fault and asked for forgiveness YEARS ago. It should be behind him, he is not denying his infidelity. nitpicking on the details is trivial.

That would have been an acceptable response, but what he said is:

"To take an ex-wife and make it two days before the primary a significant question for a presidential campaign is as close to despicable as anything I can imagine"

The most despicable thing Newt Gingrich (who among other things dumped his first wife in the hospital when she was recovering from cancer, and then refused to pay child support for his own two kids) can imagine is asking him a question about his last divorce. :D

I'm not referring to his infidelity. I'm talking about his abrasive comments that drive moderates away and pigeon-hole his appeal to the hardcore. As much noise as the "anyone but Obama" crowd makes in the press, in the end they are just a small minority, and to win the presidency you have to appeal to the mainstream of America. My point? Newt Gingrich doesn't appeal to the mainstream. I believe he could not win the presidential election.

It wasn't just infidelity he wanted. His wife contracted MS. IMHO he was being generous to offer to stay married to her in return for being allowed a mistress.

Most people will not accept their spouses succumbing to any kind of affliction today. Everything and everyone is disposable to most.

He's sticking to his plan of attacking the moderator when he doesn't like the question. Quite convincing until I heard he didn't have the balls to ask for a divorce from Maryanne in person, he did it over the phone.

What a weasel!!

If the presidential election were held in South Carolina and only South Carolinians could vote then yes, Newt Gingrich would be our next President.

There is a reason why the GOP is backing Romney and not Gingrich. Gingrich CANNOT win a general, he is simply too derisive a character and has more baggage than any candidate I've seen in recent history. With the media spotlight on him full-time he simply wouldn't stand a chance against Obama. To win a general you need minorities and women, two large groups that Gingrich will positively not do well in.

Hey! U have to be a sitting president to get away with wife cheating.
And a congressman to have a boy friend(s) on the side.
And anti abortion to be pro killing strangers in some foreign land.

vs obama actually in most polls ron paul comes within that 5% margin of error we always discuss when dealing with statistics and probability.
so once again your arguement is invalid..

The question of electability is answered when we will split the vote against Romney.

You actually need people OTHER than Republicans to vote for your candidate to win the general election.

How Newt does among his own base is NO indication of how he'll do in a general election. Again, the spotlight hasn't really been put on Newt the way it would if he were the nominee. He's simply got too many skeletons, it would be a cumulative snowball effect the way it was for Herman Cain.

The landscape of America has changed in the last 10 years. The Hispanic vote is CRITICAL to winning many swing states now. Bush realized this well and was able to win a lot of their votes by not antagonizing them openly the way Gingrich does. He realized that even though it would have been red meat for his base, it was suicide in a general population.

Whatever you think of Gingrich, and I personally don't care for him, he literally grabbed John King by his ballsack and squeezed really hard. For a moment, it even looked like he was ready to pass out. lol

lol? Newt schooled him because he's absolutely right. What the fuck does it have to do with the debate?

PS I don't like Newt, I think he's just as scummy if not more so than Romney.

Is infidelity that big deal in this country?

It wouldn't be if, say, Dan Savage were running for president. For Gingrich, though, he's been claiming he's all about family values and the sanctity of marriage for years. It would be as if Mitt Romney claimed having lots of money were evil.
