I finally made a char.. my name is Furyk I don't know what server... One question I have is how do I become a dragoon? I read up a ton on classes beforehand and I would like to become a dragoon/samurai but the only options it gave me was to be warrior/mages and the like.. do I have to do some certain class quest or something? What level would that happen? What level can I get my subclass?

Edit: And where in the heck is the option to do the alternate keyboard config to move around using awsd? Using the keypad to move around is driving me bonkers!

you must achieve lv30 in 1 of the basic jobs then do the quests for those advanced jobs that you want.

read my other posts man,

lv18 is subjob quest.
lv30 is adv. job quests.
lv20 is choco quest.

please read before you ask the same question as previously answered.

more interesting quest/missions IMO

a friend and his g/f have played EQ and iRO together. i believe FFXI is their favorite of the three.
you should give it a try.

Here's my issue though: apparently players can't choose the server they start on. We would have to be able to start on the same server...

ATM in my server atleast there is a "migration officer" that is transfering players to one of the two new servers...so perhaps you could both migrate to the same server.
I think the world pass thing does suck, I do not fully understand the reasoning for it. Anyways I am also gonna be buying a world pass for a couple friends and since they have 5 uses I can probably hook you up with a couple of the uses. I am playing on Pandamonium...

I've played several MMORPGs... (in the order I liked them)
AC1
DAoC
Shadowbane
AC2 (Beta)

I am not sure where I would rank FFXI....I would say at or above DAoC & Shadowbane for sure. I can not rank it above AC because I have yet to play in the "high" levels. The best part of the game so far is the quest/mission system (IMO). The only thing I do not really like is some of the camera controls & the menu driven commands.
FFXI is probably worth atleast trying.

I play this on the Ferrir server with my LS ( DROW ) from EQ, DAOC, PS etc etc.

I am a lvl 21 WAR/10 Monk, this game rules while I agree it doesnt look that good with AA not working it hasent stopped me one bit from playing way too much. Today I didnt play at all YET cause the server is down for service. It does require alot of time to play like most MMORPG, for example the Chocobo quest alone is a 6 hour real time quest just to be able to ride a ginat chicken.

Right now I am in Jueno for lvling, 150 to 200 exp there for worms and snippers. Anything else there would tear us up except maybe some bats.

what is this group you found? i would like to know what you are talking about. you mean an LS?

i'm always on during weekends, i might be on later tonight around 9pm est or so. maybe.
i have been playing since it's been released in the US. got it when it came out. currently in the process of trying to get my whitemage millions of levels. i need to get up to 65.... ugh.

btw, i'm also rank3 and am trying to find people to do rank missions if you know anyone rank3 that wants to do mission in Windurst.

No linkshell yet, just a group of friends. I am only rank 2, so I can't help ya with the higher missions yet. Good luck with that white mage, I want to get to 30 so I can get my dragoon mission :)

I dropped the game last week. The grouping bothered me and it was pretty boring.

Back to single player games for me.

you do know you have to kill a dragon for the dragoon mission? and also that you need rank3 to be able to talk to all of the people to get the quest for it right? and you will need high level help to kill the dragon. he is a lv45 boss i think. maybe higher.

got my whitemage to 15.
