Fedex Ground package was going to business that closes at 6pm and they deliver up to 8pm, so I called Fedex CS to find out if it's possible to pick it up tonight at the base or tommorow morning, she said no because Fedex Ground Driver is contractor and goes home after 8 instead of the base and returns to the base next morning to upload packages. I asked her are you sure he takes the truck with my package home, she said yes. I think she doesn't know crap, it's impossible.

WTF?

I have your package and if you keep talking about Betty that way, I'm going to lose it before I can deliver it to you.

Yes they are contractors that own there own trucks and yes they do take pkgs. home to deliver the next day.

yeah but on a truck it says fedexground delivery so trucks owned by fedex, drivers just drive them for very low pay. so lets say someone brakes into the truck overnight your package not insured by shipper and fedex not resposible?

That's it no more fedex ground for me, Airborne Ground , UPS and USPS, Fedex Express

Just because it says Fedex on the side doesn't mean it is a Fedex employee.

In Houston, several lines of the Metro bus system are serviced by contractors. They use Metro buses, but the drivers are not Metro employees. Outsourcing is a way of controlling costs and many companies do it.

I think it's BS,driver takes truck to some type of base

Think what you will, but FedEx Ground contracts out for its drivers and the drivers keep the trucks with them.....which is exactly what they did when FedEx Ground was RPS.

they probably dont do any driver screenings either.
FEDEX GROUND officially crap and not secure way to ship, Airborne Ground And UPS way to go
