No, it's not impossible to disable. It ASKS YOU if you want to disable it the FIRST TIME you do it. It's also in Control Panels somewhere.

That's part of my point.. it isn't in control panel unless you intalled accessibility options.

for idiots who need an hour and a half to find their key. Really, thats why they put in int acessability options. (the symbol with the wheelchair logo). mine doesn't. and I'm looking through the add/remove windows option in control panel.. and there doesn't seem to be a way to add accessibility options that way..guess I'll have to try and do it manually, or reinstall windows..

Try reading the dialog box that pops up when you activate it. If you can't figure it out from there, you're disabled enough to need it.

To tell you the truth, I don't know. I have a legit retail version of XP Pro.. I assume during install there might have been a point where I could pick what to install or not install, and chose not to install accessibility options, or not all of them anyway. But I really don't remember.

In control panel under accessibility options there are only 2 things to pick..

adjust color..etc.

and configure Windows for vision..etc.

but clicking configure just brings up a message that accwiz.exe can't be found.

Of course I don't need accessibility options, but now I have to install it so I can turn them off.

You did a hot-install. That's even worse than breaking it after installation. And those are only for DURING SETUP, and have no bearing on the files that actually get installed.

umm, I don't even know what hot-install is.. I did a completly normal install. But I just did a search for accwiz.exe, and discovered that it does live in my computer in a couple of versions in folders related to the installation of SP2, I think. The old version of accwiz.exe is in a folder where SP2 backed up stuff, and the new version is in a directory "servicepackfiles", so apparently when I installed SP2 the old version got removed from the windows directory, but the new version didn't get installed properly, for what reason, I don't know.

A hot install is when you install Windows from within Windows. That is not a completely normal install.
