I went to see what Dell had on sale this week. I was stunned.
The only Dell "home" machines with Intel cpu's are the XPS line starting at $999.00.
I knew they were going to offer some AMD chips, but they basically eliminated all the Intels except in their highest price machines.

The humorous thing is that Dell switched to AMD as soon as Intel reclaimed the speed/power consumption crown. I bet they get a great deal on those processors, though.

btw, wrong forum ;)

I'm sure there are some non-conroe intel chips that are at a competive price for budget comps. Whatever though, I'm glad somebody is keeping AMD on their feet, they won't be getting any cash from me for a while :(

The best thing about adding AMD is that their budget PCs have nvidia 6100 integrated graphics and a PCI-E slot instead of intel's awful craphics.

Yes, 6100 graphics are weak, but still twice as good as intel.
